Delivering the best Value, and Quality that surpasses $200 Knives.
My wife got this for me at the start of my culinary training.I don't even know where to start... I am a Culinary student currently enrolled in my next to last semester. I have had this knife since my first culinary class, and will continue to have it for many years to come. This knife is commercially used 5 days a week, for up to 6 hours a day. I then go home and use it there, for dinners, or prepping the food for my family. I have not sharpened it yet, only honed the blade every other day. It still cuts like the first day, no hesitation, no denting tomatoes before it cuts, just clear, precision cuts every time.I had really thought about spending $100's of dollars on my chef's knife, and was prepared to buy a Shuin Japanese Steel, and am glad that I didn't. This knife meets, and exceeds all of my culinary expectations.I love the purple, as it allows from me to always distinguish my knife from any of the other students easily and quickly. The rubberized handle is comfortable, and is perfectly designed to fit all hand types, even mine which are very large. The only "Con" I have is that the Mercer Insignia Washed off with a little scrubbing fairly quickly. I can still see it when I angle my knife to catch the light just right, but honestly, Don't care. Compared to every other knife I have ever owned (Including Henkels and Global) this is by far the best Knife I have in my tool box.

Run don’t walk!
When I say run don’t walk I mean it! I am a student chef so I am constantly cooking, bbqing, baking etc. so I need knives that are sharp and stay sharp. This knife is well worth every penny spent and then some! This knife has outdone a lot of my CutCo knives and I’m literally obsessed. I have bought 4 of these so I always have one on hand!

Excellent knives
I have been cooking for over 50 years and have used many different brands of knives even ridiculously expensive ones. I have to say the mercer has been the most sharp of all and it stays sharp. I have 4 of them and I am happy with rhem all.

Cheap. Sharp. Still sharp.
We cut tons of kitcheny stuff with this knife and it still works. Sometimes we try to use the old knife to make it feel better, but it sucks at its job and mostly we keep it around to make it look like we have more knives. This purple beast does all the real work. Sorry, other knife. Seriously, it can't even open the mail. Its like a mildly dangerous paperweight now. Oh and this new knife is purple. The old one is wood. Like a wagon wheel. This one might as well be an iPhone by comparison.

Really iike this knife!
I bought this for our seasonal home, not wanting to overpay, but also wanting a decent knife as I do a lot of cooking. This is A1 on both counts. It feels good in the hand and cuts beautifully. My husband also likes it. The handle feels a bit cheaper than my favorite Chicago Cutlery chef's knife back home, but they unfortunately don't make that model anymore and this is certainly a worthy opponent!

Great knife great price.
As a previous culinary student I can say the Mercer is where it’s at for your blades. This one in particular happened to meet my price point for my budget and I bought it based on previous reviews of someone having to get stitches after misuse of the knife. I’m here to say that this bad boy is SHARP and is here to cut stuff UP. It is an amazing knife at an incredible price. Get it. Period.
