I saw the reviews that said these chairs are easy to open and I saw reviews that these chairs are very difficult to open. I watched a video that showed to remove all the packaging and the protective cardboard around the legs to pull the seat back away from the back of the chair as it’s folded up and pushed down. Worked for the guy in the video. For me, not so much. I did all of the pre-steps. I pulled the seat back away from the back of the chair that was folded up, but it did not open when I pushed down on the seat back. What I ended up doing was leaning against my cabinet and pushing down the seat back at the same time is pulling forward on the front chair legs. That got the chairs opened. Both chairs seem very sturdy. The opening and closing mechanism is very stiff so I’m hoping that it will loosen up but if not, I do know how to get them open. The other complaint that I heard very regularly on this color espresso is that they’re very red. I have included a picture of the chair propped up against my rosewood curio cabinet. The chairs are definitely not espresso, but they’re not extremely red. At least the pair I got isn’t.

Sturdy and comfortable folding chairs.

I ordered these chairs to take the place of several large fabric chairs. I wanted the flexibility to fold themwhen not in use or just keep them up all year around. I was amazed at the space I have now, the dining area is huge with the size chairs I have now. LOVE them!

These are nice chairs. However, one of the chairs (in a pack of two) arrived a bit damaged. Either the shipping carton wasn't that well protected, or the delivery service didn't treat the carton gingerly enough. Part of the seat area was compacted against the other chair in the package leaving a large crease along the side of the sitting area of one of the chairs. It's too much hassle to pack up, box up, and return these chairs, so I guess I'll keep them and hope this damage won't affect the long-term usability of the chair. Otherwise, these seem like nice chairs.

These chairs are very nice! Well-made and sturdy. Very comfortable as well.

The chairs appear very sturdy and well made but I can NOT get them unfolded. A friend tried to help me but had no more success than I. If there is some secret to opening and using them, I would appreciate knowing what it is. Although my hands are not strong, I can open card tables and other folding chairs when necessary, and refold them later. But these new chairs are expensive fiascos unless someone can tell me an easy way of to open them.

These folding chairs are great as a permanent addition to the dining room table. Color y size are as described.
