I initially had high hopes for the Amazon Basics 7-Inch Steel Bypass Pruning Shears, but unfortunately, they didn't hold up as expected. They worked well for a little while, but then the hinge became loose, rendering them ineffective.I decided to return them to Amazon, and I’m glad they provided a full refund. While the price was appealing, the lack of durability was disappointing. I would recommend looking for a more robust option if you need reliable pruning shears.

Just got these pruning shears and immediately put them to work on my indoor jungle—fittonia, Calathea, peace lily, and a few others that needed a little cleanup. Since I go thru many clippers a year, these will do. They are cheap, cut well, but tend to self close. That works for me because I loose them pretty quickly!

For the price, I should have known these wouldn't last a month. If you are cutting cooked spaghetti, these will work really well. Try these on practically anything else and the main hinge starts to come loose. Then the blades won't close all the way meaning it only cuts half way through what you are trying to cut. Unfortunately, there's no way to fix it. Tightening the hinge only makes it lock up. The description calls these "Professional." That's kind of funny. Spend ten more dollars and get a decent pair.

Good pruner for small jobs around the garden. Sharp. Good grip. Easy to lock and unlock with one hand.
