No, the light have the memory for the light setting. The new lighting mode will be the next lighting mode after being turned off.

Q: So as far as the memory goes, say i'm using it in low mode and i turn it off. when i turn it back on will it be in low, or the stupid strobe mode?

mine goes back to high power and then you quickly hit the button to go to low
