Great First Travel Backpack
I purchased the Amazon Basics Travel Backpack for my trips, and as a first-time travel backpack user, I’m really pleased with it. This backpack is surprisingly spacious, easily fitting clothes, essentials, and even a dedicated padded compartment for my laptop, which keeps it secure. The quality feels solid—no rips, loose threads, or zipper issues after multiple trips, which is reassuring for the price. The padded straps are a standout feature; they’re comfortable even when the bag is fully loaded, making long walks through airports or cities much easier. I don’t have other travel backpacks to compare it to, but this one checks all the boxes for functionality and durability so far. My only minor gripe is that I wish it had a few more organizational pockets for smaller items, but it’s not a dealbreaker.Overall, for the price and performance, I’d highly recommend the Amazon Basics Travel Backpack to anyone looking for a reliable, no-frills option for travel. It’s been a great companion on my journeys!

Very well made
This is an amazing backpack. We used it as a personal item while we were traveling. It is big but it did fit under the seat in front of us. That was my main concern. This is like a mini suitcase. There are a couple different compartment, straps to hold everything in.... The zippers are very well made as well. It was stuffed into the overhead compartments, thrown into the baggage compartment of a bus and a train and it held up perfectly. Very well made. I would definitely purchase again if need be.

AmazonBasics TSA-approved carry on Backpack: MUST BUY!
After YEARS of trying to find the perfect travel bag, this one has taken the #1 position in my arsenal. Typically I would use my duffle bag that has wheels and carry handle, but time and many travels have begin wearing that bag down. In preparation for my trip with a 2 year old in tow, I needed something easy and hands free. After reviewing EVERY option on Amazon, it was down to 3 different backpacks. Having not traveled airlines in 3-4 years, rules and regulations change often and I was pleased to see this backpack AmazonBasics Carry-On Travel Backpack, Black has all of the up-to date regulations required. Going down the list of things I needed in a travel bag:TSA Carry on size capable.Plenty of pockets and storage for little thingsExpandable main compartmentLaptop/Tablet storageSturdy straps/HandlesLightweight (Depending on what I pack inside)When I received this bag, I was extremely pleased to see the quality in the build! for a 50$ bag this has EVERYTHING Comparing this bag to the other bags on amazon. I was also looking at a very large price difference ranging from 129$ to 229$. Being budget minded, I opted to try this risk free due to Amazon's return policies. (Love you guys!), again, let me say this: This bag is IMPRESSIVE. It EASILY fit my very large and bulky Dell Precision M6800 (Normal 17" laptop bags are not actually a TRUE 17" laptop bag), over a weeks worth of clothes (Carefully packed of course), along with cables, chargers, and a few personal items. The few things I wish this bag had are listed below (Hint Hint Amazon!):A brighter color interior (Amazon Orange would have been nice!) instead of the gray insides.More "clip" locations for carabiners or water bottle storage of sorts, recommendations would be a plastic clip or two at the top or bottom corners of the bag, or a clip location on the front corner of the bag, or sewn band straps on the front or bottom corners of the bag for clips.A hardened/reinforced bottom on the backpack. *See explanation below* When using this bag as a backpack, i opted to have the bag sit upright. Having a reinforced or hardened bottom side on the backpack would increase the durability of the backpack quite a lot especially with lots of use. When using in suitcase style, this would need a reinforced back padding or bumper of sorts.Overall, I have and will continue to recommend this bag in the distance future. Opting for the choices of other bags, this bag was extremely comfortable to wear, and carry (I am 6'3", and 215lbs).

Great bag! But "backpack"is an overstatement.
This bag is more than a backpack; it is almost the size of a wheeled carry-on. Actually, this is essentially a carry-on that you strap to your back instead of rolling it on wheels. See pic for comparison. My friend's bag is on the left, this bag is on the right, and it's about 2" shorter than my friend's bag. I like the bag, but I was looking for something to replace the North Face backpack that I had been traveling with so it's bigger than I thought it would be.I am 5'8" and 180lb, athletically built. Depending on how you are built, the hooks at the bottom strap may rub against your butt uncomfortably, or it may touch the bottom of the back of your neck (see my pic). When the bag is full, it does get heavy. The straps are wide and well padded, and the bag seems well made. I like the expandable zipper on the main compartment. It has several useful pockets, including a laptop pocket that puts the laptop flat against your back. That may or may not be comfortable for you; I didn't use this feature. There is an additional pocket where the backpack straps can be hidden when not in use; that can be used for additional storage. There is a small hook that you can use to attach keys or anything that has a really tiny hook/clip. The main interior compartment will hold 1 medium sized and 1 small packing cube with a little extra room; I was able to use 2 cubes and still have room for a pair of flats, a jacket, and a couple of additional small items. The zippers on the main compartment opens 3/4 of the way around, like a regular suitcase. For added security, there are adjustable closures that help ensure your bag doesn't accidentally unzip and flop open, spilling the contents.Overall it's a great bag! But just know that it's not a typical "backpack". It's great for road trips but you may want a different bag if you have to tote your luggage on your back for an extended period of time (say if you land at 11 but can't check in until 2 and you have to wander around the city and pass the time -- which frequently happens to me).
