Almost Perfect
At first glance I knew that I wanted to build this kit, so I took the plunge and bought it.The wood is fairly strong but still has it's vulnerable spots when it came to the small pieces. You absolutely need to have an Exacto knife for this kit and I used my own sandpaper (since I build models) which was 600, 800 and 1000 grit. They included their own sandpaper but it was way too rough for this type of wood.At first I thought that the 4 hours was going to be easy but I got so involved with this gem that I decided to take my time and it ran me about 6-7 hours, but I took my time and you should too. It'll show in the end...If I had to do it over again I would use a wood glue sparingly in the connecting parts to make it more stable. The instructions were okay with the exception of a few flaws that I had to go to the Internet for clarification (which took up more time than I would have liked) and even that had me a little confused because there were no good videos to show the exact process of what is supposed to show and what wasn't.Overall it was an awesome project that was well worth the money and time doing! The pros: Everything about it. It looks awesome, doesn't it? Everything went together properly, no broken pieces and it lets you relax and forget about the world (as you build the world lol).Cons: the sandpaper was too rough and the wax included was clumsy. No real cons to this kit.Overall it was the perfect project!2 suggestions that I hope the company would take into consideration. One would be too have a small motor inside to rotate it slowly and the other would be is too make it battery operated or have a rechargeable battery in it so you could place it wherever you wanted in your home. With a plug-in you're limited to where you can put it.This was an absolute pleasure to build, I'm now hooked on building these models and I cannot wait to start the next one.I give it a 10 out of 10!! If you get the chance to buy it at a discount, BUY IT!!Now to find a spot in my house to display this gem!!!

Brilliantly designed with easy to follow instructions
I loved building models as a kid and was looking for something unique to add to my home office. So, I purchased a ROBOTIME 3D illuminated globe kit and I was not disappointed! The box included everything I needed, including several labeled sheets of wood with clearly-labeled laser-cut pieces that detach easily in addition to a few other parts required to complete the globe, such as an LED light w/ switch, plastic cutouts for the globe exterior, and a few metal rods and screws. The provided instructions are clear and easy to follow, provided that you review them carefully. Throughout the instructions, you'll also find multiple QR codes that will allow you to watch short, instructional videos if the written instructions aren't enough. At one point, I accidentally broke a couple of pieces due to my own clumsiness and I emailed ROBOTIME support explaining what had happened and they promptly mailed me the replacement parts I needed free of charge. I thoroughly enjoyed assembling the ROBOTIME 3D globe puzzle from start to finish and somewhat surprisingly (for me), it worked perfectly when completed and it looks great, especially when illuminated. I got so much enjoyment out of assembling this 3D globe that my only remaining question is which 3D puzzle I'm going to buy next.PROS:Brilliant design.Clear, easy-to-follow instructions including video clips.Works perfectly when assembled and looks beautiful.Outstanding customer support.Assembling this was the most fun I've had in years!CONS:None.

Unique
Got this as a gift for my brother in law. Turns out he already had this exact one so I returned it, but this is an awesome puzzle and it lights up!

Have super glue ready and be prepared for challenging instructions. Adult likely required
Overall It was a fun build , I would not recommend this for kids only to build as there will be some finesse required in assembling some of the delicate parts. But as a build together would be fine. I inadvertently snapped one piece and I was being delicate. A little superglue rectified the error. the instructions alone can be confusing in spots as the details are lacking. I briefly watched a youtube video on one section as I was unsure how I felt about scanning a QR code on a chinese made instruction manual. I also deviated from the plans by painting the plywood gold/ brass beforehand to give a metal feel rather than laser cut plywood. It did rotate and move via the hand gears albeit somewhat roughly. The sticker they gave to adhere the translucent globe pieces where useless and did not adhere to the plywood so I had to use the tabs provided. A fun little project that could be assembled in an evening but I'd recommend taking your time.

What a pretty puzzle and a lamp !
Bought it for my 10 year old daughter for Christmas , she likes puzzles and crafty things. We assembled it together and it is a very pretty item once assembled. You can use it as a lamp as well. Thumbs up. Very quality craftsmanship and precise parts. You won't be disappointed.

Super freaking cool!
My man is a LEGO guy and likes to build. I decided to try a different approach and got him something cool enough to display in any room. Fully functional. Great size. AMAZING DETAIL!

Wiring defect
Love the structure of this globe. Definitely meant as a technical activity to assemble. I let my daughter get a head start and she already built around the lamp without testing it. It did not turn on. We went on to at least have it for display.I tested the wires and saw power going into it just fine, but polarity was BACKWARDS!This is the 2nd chinese electronic I've had this year with reversed contacts on the switch board, so it was no surprise. It is already outside the return window due to being a Christmas gift, so I rewired it and now lights up.My kids love it, but the poor, simple factory mistake is unacceptable. Be sure to test it like the instructions do mention.
