Achilles Pain Relief
Ordered this item to help me with some Achilles tendinitis, but it is also helping me with chronic plantar fasciitis issues as well. Yes, my feet hate me. I've been giving them a tough time for 75 years, and it doesn't take much to piss them off these days. Love this product. Shipped quickly, reasonably priced, relieves stress on the whole foot & ankle (not just one area), and pretty easy to adjust. One recommendation is that you avoid walking around a lot on it because the ice bags can change shape and perhaps trip you up. Hasn't happened to me, but I can see where it could. The safe solution is to carry the ice pack by hand to wherever you are sitting or laying, then put in on and stay put. When it's time to move, take it off. (helpful hint - you can always put it on again when you arrive at your next location, or maybe it's time to put it back in the freezer.) Totally Genius move, I know. Don't thank me, but would appreciate if you would think kindly of me from time to time.

An important part of treating plantar fasciitis
I have been diagnosed with plantar fasciitis for years, but it "comes and goes". Recently it wasn't "going". I purchased this device along with a hard shell for use during the day and one of those aluminum bars for use at night. It is my experience that one has to keep the joint flexed as much as possible at all times to encourage healing. After work, using this to first cool down the area, then immediately heat up the area while having my foot propped up to keep the stretch in place seems to be working. Once I remove the "heat", I have been messaging the problem where I find "knots" that are similar to the knots one gets in muscles, except they are much smaller, but that is definitely where the pain is coming from. After the "hot" and massage I put on the hard shell to keep the tendon stretched. The swelling has gone down tremendously in just a few days, but it still isn't easy to walk easily after sitting still for an hour. YMMV.I'm thinking it might be important that I explain I walked the Camino de Santiago through Portugal last September. I'm not sure what it is that causes the flair up in heal pain.

A little big but does the job
I have tendonitis and plantar facitis and am constantly looking for help. I don't know if ice is the way to go, but this makes it so much easier to ice. (Oh you can also do hot. I choose cold) It is a little big, but it puts the ice in the right spot-- right along my arch and up the back of my ankle. It stays quite cold for a while. I usually ice for about 20 minutes and it could probably go a little longer.

Sweet Relief!
I have suffered from Plantar Fasciitis for a long time now and recently decided to start easing back into running. As I started running again I noticed that not only did my feet hurt as expected but I was having some pretty intense Achilles pain as well. I knew I needed to ice the area but did not have a convenient way to do so which prompted my amazon search and ultimately led me to this product.Initially I will say it looked like the pockets that hold the ice packs were way to small to fit them but if you just use a little force and position them at the right angle they will in fact fit. This has gotten much easier after just a couple uses. I haven't tried heating the pads yet but the ice packs work really well and have provided the sweet relief I have been looking for! Highly recommend for anyone who is active or just experiencing a lot of foot, ankle, or Achilles pain as this provides an easy way to relieve the pain while you lay back and watch Netflix (or Amazon Prime of course...can't leave them out on this page right?).

Not for Achilles tendonitis
What I liked about this product: The ankle brace itself is VERY durable, as is the hot/cold pack. Yes, it is versatile with the hot/cold pack but not with the ankle brace as that does only fit one way, and not the way it is shown. What I don't like about this product: The picture and description is a bit deceiving in that it does not give therapy to the heel nor give relief to Achilles tendonitis. In fact, the straps can aggravate the Achilles if the straps aren't adjusted just so. The most important thing to know is that the gel pack covers the front/top of the foot and NOT the Achilles or Plantar. I have a pretty small foot, but I might have done better with the large brace because I could barely get it on my foot properly, and at the very least even after stretching it with three or four uses, does not wrap my heel and Achilles as the picture suggests. The hot/cold pack itself has pointed edges which serve no purpose (at least for me) in reaching the area of pain. Beware that the flat edges of the hot pack surrounding the gel section become hotter than the gel. I have not used this as a cold pack yet. To adjust its use for my own purposes, I've used the cold/hot pack in a regular ankle wrap being careful that at no time the hot pack touches my skin. In this fashion, I do find relief of pain.

sturdy, well made.
My father has a pressure sore on his heel (he is in poor health and is supposed to get nursing care, but that's another story...). One night when I went to visit him, be begged me for ice for his sore foot. I got some ice but I knew I had to have a better solution for what will likely be a recurring problem. I got two of these and tried them out with him. They are well made and the material is sturdy and the stitching looks good. The pockets for the ice packs are good and the ice packs themselves are fine. The only problem with them is that they are lumpy on the bottom (where the sole of the foot is) because of the way they fold over his feet. He wears a men's size 13 I think. Anyway, another thing to keep in mind is that if there is swelling around the ankle or foot, the wrap may be hard to fit over it, as it was for us. My father's feet and ankles swell somewhat, but that does not mean this product is defective. In fact it is a nice product and I would shop with this company again if I had to look for similar kinds of products.
