Q: Are these truly over-the-calf? Thanks.

Not sure the ones I bought were "over the Calf" but They are of less than adequate quality. Out of the first 6 pair I have worn, three had holes in them, BEFORE USE! Hope this helps.

Q: do this socks have any cotton in the blend?

I don't think there is any cotton all synthetic. I do love the socks because they are not so tight cutting off circulation, so they stay up nicely. The one thing I don't like is after a while they are very hard to wash. They will darken with age and I have never found anything to get them back to white usually at the bottom half. Bleach helps but never 100%
