A badly needed RAM upgrade for a low-end mid-2012 MacBook Pro
Pretty easy to install if you don't mind unscrewing the bottom plate on your Mac laptop — and note that not all the screws are the same, so keep track of where they came from. The single-piece 8GB card replaced the two cards (4 gigs total) that came with my 13-inch MacBook Pro, and significantly improved the performance. I was having a lot of trouble with shutdown in particular, and with MS Word (of all things). While the upgrade didn't completely solve those problems (I still see the spinning beach ball much more often than I would like, and for longer stretches than I would like), it did help matters enough that I can now bear to use the computer rather than constantly contemplate heaving the thing through the window.Even maxed out at 8GB of RAM, I'm not thrilled with the MacBook Pro's performance, but that's what I get for buying a low-end Mac. (Of course, they're so expensive I couldn't afford a decent one.) Now if only Mac would find a way to combine the speed of the newer models with the user-friendly interface of the pre-Intel days — and shift around the available processing power as needed to keep from having to endure the spinning beach ball in a seemingly simple program such as Word — we might finally have the great computer the world needs.Even with all its flaws, the Mac New World Order still beats the hell out of PC.

Works perfectly in my MacBook Pro 2012
It worked perfectly in my MacBook Pro 2012, Core i7 2,3 GHz (not retina). Despite Apple doesn't support 16 GB option, I installed two of this 8GB modules and voila, 16 GB of RAM. I'm also using Windows 7 64 bit on that Mac and worked perfectly too. The performance improvement is noticeable since I now have 4 more times the amount of memory I had and the price is very good.I really recommend this upgrade.Note that this is not a kit of two memory modules. You should purchase 2 of this modules in order to upgrade your MacBook to 16GB of RAM. I also don't recommend to purchase only one of this modules to upgrade your MacBook to 8 GB of RAM. In that case is better to purchase two 4GB modules (KTA-MB1600/4G)

June 2012 MacBook Pro
I just purchased this MacBook for school and plan on having it for a while so I wanted to future-proof it as much as I could. I needed it to run simulators in VMWare Fusion, so I wanted to buy it with the RAM maxed out, but Apple was charging $200 for 8GB, so I took the 4GB and hunted for an upgrade. I made this purchase, got it delivered, and installed it. Installation was a breeze and it worked on the first go-around. I haven't ran any VMs yet, but the computer is not lagging as badly as it was with the 4GB of RAM it came with. I'm glad I didn't bite on the Apple upgrade.

Works great with 2012 Mac Mini 2.3GHz Quad i7
Just installed a pair of these last week to max out my new 2012 Mac Mini from the factory 4GB to 16GB of RAM. They went in very easily, and the Mini had no trouble recognizing and running with them in place. Interestingly, the increase in RAM also increased the video allotment for the Intel HD 4000 graphics chip from its initial setting of 512MB to 768MB, a noticeable difference in my opinion using OS 10.8.2 which is very graphics intensive. Also, I can now have several memory-hungry apps running at full blast simultaneously, such as Firefox, iMovie, iPhoto, Photoshop, iDvd, iWeb, and GarageBand, etc, making for an extraordinarily efficient workflow environment. A worthy upgrade indeed!

3rd party product not OK with Apple
Apple store wouldn't install it, even after Apple care said third party product was OK...and Kingston's site said it was compatible. So I'm having to return it.

Works in 2013 Mac mini perfectly
I bought this for use in my Mac mini after using another set of RAM that was made for Macs. I've always trusted Kingston's products & this one has again performed admirably. Previously the RAM I had didn't have the correct CAS timings so anytime I performed an update to OS X the whole system would crash, forcing me to re-install the original Apple RAM to get it up & running0. I installed Kingston's RAM & this issue no longer occurs. I've update my system from 10.8.2 to 10.8.4 successfully before installing the 10.9 upgrade last week. All system updates have been flawless with this RAM.Again I'm satisfied & happy to be a continuing Kingston customer.

DON'T BUY THIS! KERNAL PANIC ISSUES WITH ALL 2012 AND AFTER APPLE MACBOOK COMPUTERS
I bought two of these a year ago for my mid-2012 MBP 13. Worked fine until Mar 2014. Had kernel panic issues, meaning my graphics on my screen went crazy. The tech guy at Tekserve (NYC) thought it was the logic board so I had it replaced (under warranty for free). 3 months later, same thing happened! Turns out it was this Kingston RAM! Apparently, all rams made by Elpida had issues with all 2012-2013 and later Apple computers, according to the shop, so they all had the same kernel panic/graphic problems. Had to switch over to Crucial rams, which are made by Micron and no issues! (Yes I had to pay for ram AGAIN!) Trying to contact Kingston to see if I can get my money back or at least let them know of their products if they don't know already. And here's the kicker: Micron Tech just bought out the bankrupt Elpida last year so I'm not exactly sure what THAT means... But probably these rams were made before all that.So to digress, if you have any Apple computer post 2012, don't buy these! Buy ram from Crucial or at least made by Micron Tech.
