I received this unit over a week ago. Installation was easy and straight forward. After I had everything working and thinking this is a GEN 1 radio, I upgraded to latest software and everything stopped working. I then decided to try the gen 2 update and that worked very well. As far as the can tell, this is a GEN 2 with a hybrid gen 1 screens. It looks and installs like the new GEN 2 units which are plug and play, no board replacements required. Most factory items are preserved except for CD player (you can add one), TPS and Sirius XM radio. (You might be able to add one soon) What exceeds expectations is the HVAC controls. I have a manual AC and this unit does a very good job at making it Automatic. When it's cold in the morning, it's running the heat is on and AC is off. AC comes on and fan is automatically adjusted as needed. I highly recommend this for anyone wanting an Android head unit for their F150.

It was pretty easy to install, I had it for a year and then it would go silent and have no sound, and after a day sound would come back only to shut off 20 minutes later. Barely any of the features worked very well. AM radio never received a signal. I hope there is some sort of warranty because a thousand dollar paper weight wasn't what I expected.

This would have been a 5 hands down, but my radio stopped working and the licensed dealer told me it was a common problem. I had the older version so it’s likely fixed now. For the money, I don’t think you can do better. Similarly sized competitor’s models go for over twice the price. The screen completely changes the interior and has pretty good functionality. Install was actually easier than I anticipated. Also really like the YouTube videos this company does showing full installs, updates, etc.

I’ve been using it for weeks so I could sharing my experience of using it. Customer Service: They have an awesome customer service. I got replied within 24hrs. They even send me an additional components for free. I got several questions about the installation and setups, I got answered in a detailed, well explained manner. I am very satisfied. Installation: pretty easy. Plug and play, not cutting, splitting or soldering required. It comes with all the wire harnesses. One plug only fits one socket. If you can take the dash apart you won’t mess up. Just follow the steps in YouTube video. Function: lots of I/O, you can install Front, left and right cameras. You can install aftermarket amplifier and speakers, you hook up a dvd player if you want. It has 4 usb now. It’s android system so you can do lots of customization. E.g. setting up the boost picture. As for now, I now they still working on better the system, soon there will be a system update brings new feature. Cons: only minor issues. No big deal to me. 1. Boost speed. Not as fast as the factory on. Ah, it’s and Android tablet… While boosting, Warm up the engine, tie my seat belt 2. USB drive supports up to 32GB. A little bit annoying cause I can no longer use my 64GB one. Overall I like it. Much better than factory sync 3, looks cool, plug and play, easy installation.

Loved the radio and everything about it except the wifi was constantly in and out. will not work on iPhone hot spot dont know about android. Had to purchase a jet pack hot spot in order to have internet on the radio. This is the reason i returned the unit. Hopefully fixed with gen2.

I recieved this head unit quick. It is packaged nice and all of the cables were labeled so that made it easier to install. The screen is bright and the picture quality is really good. All of my steering wheel functions worked like normal. This screen is big, so at night while driving, it will be bright, but you can adjust the dim on it so it will automatically dim when you turn your lights on. It also has a mode that turns off the screen but still plays music if it still too bright. My only regret was that I should've bought a backup camera and installed it the same time. The DVR camera that comes with it is also nice with a nice picture. The head unit itself is pretty fast. I haven't had a problem with it lagging while downloading apps. My only complaint is that the bottom of the head unit doesn't sit flush with my coin tray at the bottom. It might be different with F150's that have the center console, but I have a fold down center console seat and the bottom of the head unit sticks out just a bit. I didn't deduct it from the rating because it is not noticeable unless you run your hand across it, and it doesn't affect anything. Another thing is that it does take a couple of seconds to boot up, but it is a tablet and all tablets do that when it is completely shut down. Overall, I am very happy with this product. There are videos on the Linkswell website on how to customize and use this head unit/ tablet.

Very very glitchy and the updates provided through linkswell only partially work. Could not get app,airplane, or plugbox update to work. Also can’t use radio and maps through Car play at same time. I get that I use Spotify most of time anyways but it’s a radio first… so expect to waste a ton of time trying to get basic functionality out of this unit. You WILL waste a tons of time for little reward. Wish I would of got something tried and true. You’ve been warned on what you will get if you buy this nice looking but horribly glitchy radio.

I really like it 90 day after I myself put it in. The only thing I dislike is the fact that the radio needs its own hot spot or internet to really use it. At times it is difficult to connect to plug and play. The blue tooth is really nice and once I do connect the plug in play the screen is nice. As for the movies you will need a USB no DVD'S.
