Worth every penny!
As a new Ham operator I just wanted to get on the air as fast as possible. I had a thorough list of all the repeaters and simplex frequencies I wanted to put into my TM-V71 radio. When the software arrived I loaded it into my computer, typed in all the frequencies I wanted in my radio, and then uploaded them into the radio. The whole process took maybe 20 minutes and I was listening to the local repeaters and making contacts with members of the amateur radio club I belong to. The software loads easily, transfers to your radio easily, and makes managing your radios memory painless. The radio interface radio cable is pure quality. I love the fact that I can see my entire memory setup in spreadsheet format and even add notes. I have several different files that I can upload into my radio which includes a local repeater file and several travel files for when we take our travel trailer on vacation trips. You can even update the software right from your laptop as updates are available. Expensive...yes, but worth every penny!

Good product, less than optimal design
this is a solid product, unfortunately, I do not like that you have to buy a complete new hardware and software for every radio, with no easy way to coordinate between radios. Unfortunately, this is real financial bias towards just selling more full priced product. There is no reason the company cannot sell add-ons for, say, a reduced cost for additional radios, and re-using the same program to coordinate frequencies among multiple radios. Sorry, this is just not a thoughtful design and makes me hesitant to buy more. Otherwise, their support is very solid, I had problems with the install not working, they were very helpful

Highest Quality Product. Enhances enjoyment of Amateur Radio.
Like ALL of their products, the software and hardware are easy to use and increase the ease and fun of Amateur Radio by saving you time in programming your radio. I have purchased four of these kits, one for every radio I own. i highly recommend RT Systems products. Oh, and their customer service is excellent!

Useless! And unstable.
I drive a truck through all of the lower 48 states, using the Kenwood tmv71a radio, I will need approximately 6 programs that I will have to change as I drive to cover the country's 2 meter and 70cm repeaters. I bought this software because it can download directly from the internet instead of me using the Kenwood software and having to type everything in manually 1 repeater at a time. However, the RT system's software will only download from radioreference.com ( which allows you to do one state at a time) if you get an upgraded account from that website, I followed the directions that come with the RT systems software to get an upgraded radio reference account, but the radio reference website indicates that that link does not exist. I searched all over radio references website, and there is no way to get an upgraded account, so there is no way to download repeater information state by state. Also, when doing a radio reference search, the RT system's software crashes every single time, and I lost everything every time as the program closed. This is using a computer with Windows 7 Professional. You can get repeater information from repeaterbook through the RT systems software, however it only downloads information in a circle around the city you select, and you select the radius. The file ends up being bigger than the memory of the radio if you select a large radius, and it would take hours to organize this by state. Also, when you transfer the information over from the search box to the file window so you can download it to the radio, the location of the repeater is not included, eliminating the ability to organize these repeaters by state and, making the software even more useless than it already is. This is because I organize the repeaters by state, each Bank of 100 memories in the Kenwood tmv71a can be scanned separately, that is why I do 100 memories per state. $50 and a few hours of my time down the drain. I'll stick with the Kenwood software, and I recommend that you do also. The Kenwood cable cost money, but the software is free, so you can save yourself $25.
