We installed the Ring Alarm Flood & Freeze Sensor in our basement, and it has proven to be an invaluable addition to our Ring system. Setup was extremely easy, just a few minutes, no tools or professional installation needed—so expanding our existing system was effortless. Here’s why I strongly recommend it: 1. We purchased this for our second home in Florida so that we would be alerted if there was a water leak in the house. We have one located in each bathroom, under the kitchen sink, and the laundry room. I thought my husband was being a little over paranoid, but boy was he right. We are actually here in Florida now luckily because last night at 12 am my husband heard the "Water Detected" alarm going off from our Ring Alarm. He jumped out of bed and ran to the laundry room first, nothing there. Then off to the second bathroom to find water coming out from under the wall next to the sink. He was able to quickly turn off the main water shut off outside and stop the water. At this point it only took 3 towels to mop up the water. Since my husband is handy, the next morning he opened up the wall behind the sink to find out that a water connection had completely failed and water was shooting out into the wall cavity. The sensor had luckily went off right away so we were able to shut the water off almost immediately. If we had not had this we would not have known about the leak until the morning and our whole house would have been flooded as this bathroom was on the other side of our house. My husband was able to fix the failed connection (I told you he was handy!) and problem was solved in half a day, with very little expense on our part. I cannot recommend this product enough. Thank god we were here and not back in Seattle, but if we were we would still have been able to contact our house watch services and they could have come out and shut the water off and minimize the damages. Such a small investment saved us possibly thousands of dollars. We do not have flood insurance here in Florida due to the extremely high cost, so any damages would have been on us.

This device has saved me over hundreds, if not thousands, of dollars! I placed this near the overflow valve on my water heater to detect any possible leaks down the road. Well not even a year later the sensor went off and sure enough the water heater had started leaking and failing. Had it not been for this device, it may have been hours before we noticed the leak was occurring given the location of our water heater! Instead this device notified us within minutes of the leak occurring so we could take measures to shut off the water supply to the water heater before it flooded our home. If you have any possible area in your home where water leaks could occur, I highly recommend you get this device. You honestly owe it to yourself to buy this! Literally saved us so much money and headaches! It connects easily to an existing Ring security system, it’s very small in size and appearance allowing it to be tucked away unobtrusively anywhere in the home. The coverage and range is excellent for the location we had installed this device. The speed of alerts is near instantaneous once water is picked up by the sensor. Overall the performance is excellent, and this was amazing value for the price we paid!

Functions as expected

I will stand by this product!!!! I had a backup in my basement three times! This sensor alerted me immediately every time, audibly through my ring alarm and notifications. It has saved me a lot and I am thoroughly happy with my purchase. Highly recommend!

Used this on an AC drip pan to know when and if it backs up I did have some condensation leaking onto it, and when it did it went off. So it works as designed! I moved it a little to avoid false positives. Will buy some more for other areas. Took about 2 minutes to setup.

I've only had it alarm once, but it did immediately alert me to an issue with our ejector pump. I turned out to not be a huge amount of water, but I was able to address it before it became an expensive problem. The flood alarm has already paid for itself. No problem connecting it to my ring system. It is small, sturdy, and easy to place where needed.

I picked up one of these water sensors to pair with my Ring alarm system and placed it under the kitchen sink. About a week later, I started receiving repeated notifications from it. At first, I assumed it was a false alarm ..... but when I checked, I found an actual plumbing leak. Thanks to this sensor, I was able to catch the issue early and avoid what could have turned into a costly repair. I was so impressed, I ordered two more for other areas in the house. Very easy to set up and connect to your existing system. First alert happened in the middle of the night when our septic system backed up due to septic pump failure and we didn’t know there was an issue with the pump. It’s a great little device and I definitely recommend it.

Added this to our system of Ring ecosystem, just as nobody really inspects that furnace room as much as we should - so having this peace of mind addon was a no brainer as pricing wasn't too farfetched. This flood/freeze Ring Alarm Sensor, is very easy to add to your Ring Security System via the app. I simply placed it on the floor of my utility devices in the furnace room. So if a leak develops, or the heat fails long enough to cause freezing, I'll get an alert on my phone. Not 100% if it's effective, but I also don't want to find out either.... BUT consider this cheap insurance against massive water damage at a fraction of the costs that it may induce. Setup was ease.
