Yes, it has the classic characters and I think the board is more detailed and interesting than the other versions. My daughter loves this version the most, we have two. It is a great version of the Clue game. I recommend it.

I received an email from Amazon to answer your question because I was one of 7 who had reviewed Clue - but it was many years ago. I have no idea which version you are asking about - it would have to be used, unless they've started putting out the original again. Sorry, but I can only see your question not the actual product and running a search - there are way too many versions of Clue out there. If you want the original game, original pieces, I'd say it would have to be used - the one we purchased was used and that was 8 - 10 years ago and it wasn't the 1st edition, rather the one I grew up with in the 1960's. Our daughter wanted the one I purchased back in the 70's, we knew she didn't care if it was used, just that version which back then was no longer available new. The original was first produced in, I believe 1949, and that first edition is different than the one I grew up with in the 60's - so I'm not even certain what version you are looking for... sorry I can't help you, hope you find what you're looking for
