**Q: Do you apply this immediately before installing the window (I plan on using rope) or can you put it on a while before installing?**
A: I'm not certain as to what you mean by the term "rope". I'll speculate that what you're referring to is a Butyl Sealant, what we commonly call Ribbon Sealer. 

3M glass products are intended for use as part of the repair process outlined in service manuals provided by automotive manufacturers.  For detailed instructions by car model, refer to information available from the automobile manufacturer.

3MTM Windo-WeldTM Ribbon Sealer is designed and intended for use as a replacement to original equipment butyl installations or as a supplementary sealant when installing stationary glass with urethane adhesive.  

3MTM WINDO-WELDTM RIBBON SEALER IS NOT INTENDED FOR A WINDSHIELD OR BACKGLASS WHERE OEM URETHANE WAS ORIGINALLY USED.  For urethane set glass, refer to and follow 3M Auto Glass Replacement Urethane directions.   In some urethane set applications, use of this product may be appropriate as a supplementary sealant.

3MTM Single Step Primer is designed for use with 3MTM Adhesives. It adds strength to the Urethane Adhesive bond, helps protect the adhesive from Ultraviolet degradation, and is used to cover bare metal if damaged during removal. 

3MTM Single Step Primer should be applied 10 to 15 minutes before installing the replacement glass.

**Q: Is there a product that has replaced this primer?  I cant seen to find this product anywhere.  i am using the 3m windo-weld in an upcoming project.**

**Q: i am looking for a white 3m primer like this.  this one said color is whilte but of course it is black.  is a white primer available?**
A: Not that I have seen.

Great product when used properly and in combination with 3M window weld. The rear window on my wife's 2006 Crossfire Roadster separated from the convertible top so I used these two products to glue it back to the top. About 3/4 of the window needed to be glued back and these product worked extremely well. You need to plan how you'll do it and take your time doing it but you'll be happy with the result. Total cost of the items needed (primer, window weld and suction cups) was about $150 and was done over 2 days given you can only do half the window at a time.
