SKIL 5 Amp Corded Jig Saw- JS313101

I am a diy girly and this saw is perfect for DIY projects and home use. It works great and has plenty of power for smooth, precise cuts. It’s easy to handle, perfect blade size, lightweight, lockable, and comfortable to use, very durable for longer projects. Design with variable speed control makes it easy to cut different materials, and the blade change is quick and simple.. Excellent quality for the price and definitely a solid tool to have on hand.

I have never used a jigsaw before and I needed to cut through a laminate counter to install a 14” deep fiberglass sink in a recent basement bathroom remodel. I was super skeptical given the price point but I counted on the trend of positive reviews here and they were right! This jigsaw aced the project and was super smooth to work with especially for me being such a rookie. Following advice from another reviewer, I did buy Bosch blades for it and the combination of the two worked so well that I expanded the remodel to include a new laminate floor using a blade to cut laminate with this jigsaw. I am super pleased with this tool and will tackle more projects with it in the future!

Replacing a single speed B&D jigsaw from the 80’s (finally gave up). Really impressed with the quality and features. Great unit for the grab and go small shop jobs. Really like the tool-less chuck that accepts U and T shank blade and variable speed. Has all the features of my higher price DeWalt. Will definitely consider Skil when my older B&D circular saw /sander, also from the 80’s give up. The only minor concern has been expressed by other reviews, trigger is sensitive and caution need be taken when plugging in. Not a problem once you know.

Nice jigsaw and a good price. No tools needed to change blades, which is a big selling point. Cuts smooth as butter and accurate as well. Only need allen wrench to adjust angle. Some people said no blades were included, however, as I was getting ready to contact the seller about thinking mine were missing, I happened to drop my user manual. Lo and behold, the blades were wrapped in plastic, stuck between pages of the manual. I had picked up the manual and shook it out a couple times and didn't see them, but apparently were stuck to a page until I dropped it. As the blades are thin and small, I had completely missed them originally. So if you can't find it, check the manually thoroughly.

Got this for my son. He is into woodworking now. His two daughters help out a little. Good quality and easy to work with. I recommend it.

OK, I ALWAYS hate it when a trusted tool Goes South. When my old SKIL Jigsaw recently bit the dust, I discovered there were LOTS of other jigsaw options now available. Based on how well that old SKIL held up, at the end of the day I decided to jump over ALL of them and get back on the SKIL "horse." Hey, I'm a cranky ol' guy, and fully anticipate this SKIL Jigsaw to outlast me, and at this point that's just about all I need from a replacement power tool purchase. The fact the SKIL's price was comparable to any alternative, and easily accepted BOTH standard and T-style blades, also had a certain amount of appeal. So now, with my fingers firmly crossed, and kept WAY away from its blade, I look forward to many more years of faithful service from this SKIL Jigsaw! Who knows, if any of my other power tools decide to give up the ghost before I do, exploring other SKIL options in the marketplace is probably in my future

I love this machine because its dense and feels good in my hands. It has 4 settings, and they affect how fast the blase moves and if you adjust them depending on what line you're cutting they do allow you to move more or stay straighter. For the price a great item. I do remodeling mostly and like corded power tools versus battery because most of the time my jobs have power, so if this is for a shop or work, I'd say it's good to go. Also, I left it in the rain for a couple days and it works fine. The plates screw is not very good at keeping it level, so I do have to tighten that a lot otherwise I'll end up cutting at an angle.

Long live corded! This saw has good features that actually work. Miss the lack of lighting compared to some other products. Skil is a good brand. Unless you're a pro and have special requirements a corded saw is best I think. It needs power. We have a house. A saw is needed for even minor basic needs. Best to get a jig saw before a circular for the DIYer. Pick yourself up a set of deWalt blades with a case. Or any brand, but a case for blades is so helpful. And also make sure you have some task lighting.

Llevo creo más de medio año con este aparato y se come lo que le avientes, se siente rígida y potente, trae velocidades y tiene engomados en varias áreas que la hacen suave al tacto y la protegen! De dónde siento que flojea es de la suela, no es tan rígida y gruesa como otras marcas, pero eso supongo que es debido a la gama. La compré por 500-600 pesos MX en descuento y de vez en vez bajan, así que les recomiendo que esperen.

Very nice heavy duty 5 amp jig saw, paid only 60 dollars Canadian! Don’t waste $200 on a dewalt saw. 4 different cutting modes, adjustable guard for bevel cuts, tool less chuck for quick and easy blade changes. You won’t get a better jig saw for your money.

Me gusta la facilidad de uso y los terminados. Para trabajos caseros, sin problemas hasta la fecha. Buena herramienta.
