I originally purchased these to make paper lanterns, to put over a string of Christmas lights and have glowing lanterns. However, please note that this product IS NOT WASHI PAPER. It is very dense, with a glossy finish. They make terrible lanterns, because the light cannot get through the material at all. That being said, the designs are very beautiful (some I didn't even want to fold - I wanted to frame them instead), and the price is fantastic. There eight different patterns, six sheets of each, which is good if you fudge up the first couple of times. I wish there was more variety, but for this price it's a very good deal.

I love the gloss and patterns of this paper. It seems pretty forgiving to my novice origami. It’s a very light weight paper.

Vibrant colors, fine detail, crisp papers and great choice of traditional designs and companion solid color backing. The only problem is that the stink of the ink is very potent and for anyone chemically sensitive, they cannot work with these until they have been thoroughly aired outdoors, which is a bit of a pain to spread out safely and turn several times until "cured". If not for that problem, they'd easily get 5 stars as utterly delightful.

Like the weight of the paper . It's perfect for oragami.

Makes an excellent gift.

Bought this for my 7 year old son who loves origami. He liked the instruction booklet that comes with it and was able to follow the directions.

I folded some origami dragons with this. The sink-fold needed for this model worked, but the feel of the paper just didn’t feel right. It was thicker than I am used to, and it didn’t tear as easily as some other paper I have tried, but it still didn’t feel right. The paper is slick and glossy and it doesn’t like to keep it’s shape like the thinner and stronger paper made in Japan… Almost as if it was not intended to be folded. Traditional Japanese designs… from Hong Kong. Says so on the back of the package. The patterns are nice, but the quality is lacking. I’ll give it a moderate star rating, in all fairness.

These papers have a nice feel to them. The colors & patterns lend themselves to more than origami. Paper artists can paper piece or collage with them. Sorry no image of my creations,yet.
