Okinawan Hawaiian Purple Sweet Potatoes 3 Lbs.

My family MD told me to buy these. His mother went strict Paleo, after several of their relatives died of diabetes. She used these purple yams as the ONLY carb on her diet -- and successfully avoided diabetes! Diabetes is hereditary & common in their country. But they can't stand to quit carbs, especially rice. My husband is from that country; his mother died of diabetes. His pre-diabetes is getting worse due to carbs. I'm sure if he switches to these yams, it will help ! We got 3 pounds, 4 big potatoes. Perfect sized order for 2 seniors. Arrived quickly, in good condition, well-packaged. Incredibly delicious! My husband and I ate them for six meals, they were perfect. Bake, nuke, slice & fry, fabulous.

The potatoes arrived looking small. The mailing bag was moist inside not dry. Within a week 2 of the potatoes had mold on them, even though I stored them in a cool, dry and dark space. I cooked 2 of them, both had areas that were hard and dry and therefore smashed potatoes didn't work too well. The flavor, however was wonderful.

I was skeptical, but these beauties arrived perfectly and tasted great!

The taste was sweet. They last once cooked. You only get 4 and one of them was spoiled when delivered.

Yes I recommend these. they arrived in great shape. no complaints.

Disappointed that 2 of the potatoes were already mushy, turning brown and had a nasty smell coming from them, when they arrived. The other ones were tasty but not worth the money considering we could only use 4 of them.

I was looking for Okinawa purple sweet potato; this one is Hawaiian but it’s ok. Pricey.

One of my favorite garden channels raved about the violet-fleshed Okinawan sweet potatoes. Since he reliably produces such great content and declared the Okinawan was his FAVORITE variety, I was eager to give them a try, too. I was so confident, I placed a double order. Unfortunately, my confidence was misplaced. Not only were these sweet potatoes much smaller in size than expected, several had already begun to rot in transit. I was actually planning to keep these in my root cellar until the Spring planting. But since they are of such poor quality, I’m feeding those that haven’t rotted yet… TO MY DOGS. 👎👎👎 SMH
