I have several Dell 7290 (8th-gen) laptops, and wanted to upgrade 3 of them to the larger capacity 60Wh type. It turns out that most off-brand (and mostly, but not always cheaper!) batteries that claim to be compatible with this laptop ARE NOT!! Dell laptops verify compatibility with a chip/code residing on the battery, and if it fails validation it will throttle CPU performance. In my case, two other non-OEM batteries I tried throttled CPU performance by 90%(!). BUT THIS ONE (recommended by MSFT Copilot AI) works, and delivers full performance, even when the laptop is set up to run at 100% CPU speed on battery ("aggressive" performance settings). So this is important, that anyone with this type of Dell laptop (maybe others?) will want to be aware of this. Note that this battery still only costs about 25% of the price of the original OEM battery from Dell, or at other parts places that sell original OEM batteries!

Dell E7440. Installation was simple after removing screws in the back of the laptop and the battery. So far it works, charged overnight and I used it for about and hour and it says 5 hours left. I know that it won't last long but it is already better than the battery I replaced. That one I purchased about year ago and steadily decreased in battery time. I hope this one holds up better. Updated after a couple of weeks, I get about 3 hours which is fine for my purposes. I would purchase again.

This battery fit my Dell Latitude 7290 perfectly. It seems to perform well. Takes a charge fine. Not sure about battery life...time will tell.

The battery I received has a max capacity of 64Wh instead of 72, but can actually charge up to 58Wh. It's not perfect but for 30 bucks it's a solid deal. Most importantly this battery actually works with my t480 and doesn't give me a non genuine battery warning. Just so you know I am running bios version 1.46.
