I have no tv ariel will it still work

Yes BUT. What you will be able to receive is the streaming channels like iPlayer, ITVHub, UKTV, ALL4, and MY5. What you will not be able to receive without an arial is other channels like Film4, Great etc. Also note that this box requires very specific Flash Memory for recording and does NOT record series. That is if you set the series recording feature for say a program that is on three successive days then the first will record, the second will overwrite the first, and the third will overwrite the second. So all you are left with is the last of the series. You also need to learn the navigation system which took me several days.

For recording, can i use a usb hdd rather than a flashdrive?

Hi for recording you can only use a USB flashdrive of a minimum of 32 Gb and a maximum of 1 TB.

Can you cast netflicks from your phone

Netflix is not yet supported, but it is beautiful to cast Youtube or Amazon Prime!

Hi I would like to know if this streaming service works In the Ireland.

Hi Alan, There is another box sold by Netgem on Amazon that works in Ireland with almost the same services - the only difference is that it does not have the Freeview live channels, but instead has the Irish Saorview live channels. The title of this product is "NetBox Ultra HD: Saorview Live Irish channels smart TV box + Streaming in 4K Ultra HD + USB recording = all in one place". I hope this helps.
