## Description

Product Description This Walthers Trainline EMD GP9M diesel locomotive will be a real workhorse on your HO Scale model railroad, and is perfect for expanding or upgrading any train set too! Based on locos introduced in 1954 and still going strong today, the GP9M is available decorated in a variety of colourful schemes and are fully assembled, ready for service on your railroad. From the Manufacturer The Electro-Motive Division (EMD) of General Motors was the last major builder to enter the road switcher market, introducing the GP7 (GP for General Purpose) in 1949. In 1954, the more powerful GP9 was unveiled with a 1750 horsepower prime-mover. This became the most successful of the early geeps, with sales of more than 3,800 locos in the U.S. and Canada. As the GP9s were bumped from major freight and passenger trains by newer locos, they began new careers as switchers. Many roads rebuilt them with a low nose to improve forward visibility and they continue to serve in switching, wayfreight and transfer assignments today. This HO Scale model will be a real workhorse on your model railroad, with great features like a heavy diecast metal frame, powerful can motor with flywheel, eight-wheel electrical pick-up and drive, and a working headlight. Fully assembled and ready for service, they come prepainted in a variety of schemes.

Review: High Quality Walthers Diesel Engine - excellent high quality, made beautifully, detailed and quiet running at all speeds, in the video its running on Bacman EZ track without issue, also couples with a Bachman Caboose via a Walthers car with out issue
Review: Great value and runs fine - I bought this to run old legacy Tyco tracks with a 30 year old transformer. It runs just fine. One thing I noticed is it seems to lack a gradual ramp up speed. It seems to go from a full stop to 1/4 speed with nothing in between. It could be the transformer, but the legacy Tyco engine I have doesn't behave in this manner with the same transformer. Maybe that's the difference between a $50 Walthers engine and a 100+ dollar comparable Bachmann engine. For my use, small oval around my Christmas tree, it works just fine.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: does this engine have the motor in it, not just the "dummy" engine ?**
A: Yes, the engine has the motor in it. You can run it out of the box.

**Q: Can it ride on dc 15v analog?**
A: I'm not sure. My grangfather used to use a variable voltage transformer, but I don't know what the voltage range was. Check the output specs on the transformer you have.

**Q: Where is this made?**
A: China, just like the vast majority of model railroad items on the market today.

**Q: Does it come with a track? If not where do I get the track?**
A: No track comes with the locomotive. Track can be purchased at Amazon or most hobby stores that sell model trains and accessories. I would suggest Bachman EZ track. It's the best on the market.
