Excellent tool for welding
The welding clamp is an essential tool for my husband, since he is a welder. This new tool is just what he was looking for, since the electrodes used define the amount of amperage, which are 500A, which are the most used in his daily work. Excellent, very functional tool. I recommend it.

This is a robust electrode holder. The connection method is very simple. The spring pressure allows the holder to grip the electrode securely.

Best Stinger I've Used for General Work
Using the original cables, I upgraded to this stinger and the results were a fantastic improvement over the factory supplied one. Since then I've also upgraded the cables and the results are pure heaven! It's got a heavy jaw (which I like) that grips the electrode strong enough that you can bend it an which way you want. Generally, you don't have to as it's got all the cutouts for any direction you would commonly use. For the price, it can't be beat and the customer service is an absolute 10 out of 10 in my book. Both responsive to any issue and fast to respond. Really can't ask for anything more IMHO...

Good value, works like a charm.
Has a double setscrew which is a plus to keep from slipping and tearing the copper wiring on the lead. Overall spring strength is very good and holds the rod in place without moving. We replaced a similar unit that had about burned up over its life. We hope this one lasts as long.

500 amp welding stinger
I bought the 300 amp a year ago. I tend to burn the rods down to 1/2 inch long and have burnt out a couple of the 300 amp stingers. This 500 amp is heavier duty, heavy spring, a little harder to squeeze. I does clamp much better. NO slop in the clamp of the two jaws. Should hold the rod much tighter.

It took only a few minutes to swap out
I used 2-gauge welding cable and cut the sheathing back far enough to fold it in half before adding dielectric grease and the copper crimp-shim that came with it.

Works good if you’re not burning 1/4” for long periods of time. Started melting after about 15 rods. Less amperage welding would be fine.
