Review: Bought as hellofresh alternative - I was looking for something to replace the curry base that comes with my hello fresh meals. Hello! Fresh seems to have gone downhill with quality but the curries are one meal that we are always recreating at home. I got the medium and it was a good level of spice but it did not fully replaced the curry base as it is just a powder and you probably need to add some tomato or cream or I'm not sure something needs to be added to get the body of the curry base that comes with HelloFresh. But it is great on its own as flavoring and I got the medium because my daughter does not like anything too spicy. We make hers with this alone and add cayenne or chili powder to our portions Review: The last curry powder I will ever buy! - This curry powder tastes awesome! I bought the mild, medium and hot versions. I usually add two tablespoons of medium to one hot or one mild, depending on who I am cooking for. I am sure if you love a good curry flavor (without sugar added), you will love it too.

The last curry powder I will ever buy!

Buyer beware
My issue with Sharwoods isn't the powder. It's the order fulfillment. We ordered 3 medium strength curry powders and were sent 3 mild ones. In normal times....remember those? In normal pre Covid times I assume I would be able to send back the erroneously shipped items on their dime and be sent the correct ones. However these days that doesn't seem to be an option which means we are left holding products sent to us by their mistake that we are expected to pay for. I am hoping this is addressed.

Good stuff for medium curries
It's so much better to use this powder as its a wonderful flavour & good value for money. Not only is it cost effective but also means that you can make your own decisions about what else goes in your meal & smaller carbon footprint than buying a jar of thickened tomato sauce!

Such excellent curry powder now difficult to find in the shops.
This is an old favourite which I have been using for many many years. It has a wonderful aromatic flavour without being too chilli hot and is a great basis for many curried dishes and marinades. I especially like to make a marinade with it for barbecue meats. Strangely, in recent times it seems to have become completely unavailable in all my local (major) supermarkets and I am so pleased to find it on Amazon!
