These are some of my favorite seed starting trays. They come with everything you need to get seeds off to a great start. I love that the trays are transparent, making it easy to keep an eye on root growth. The humidity domes work perfectly for initial sprouting, and the drip trays make bottom watering simple and mess‑free. A well‑designed, reliable seed starting kit that I use season after season.

Really liked these, especially for the price! Pretty well made. All the dials on the tops snapped in perfect. Not sure if they will last more than one season but we will see. Very happy with this purchase. Going to get more I’m sure.

Thanks to my enterprising and large cat squashing all my existing seed trays (and taking out an entire tray of cherry tomatoes in the process) in order to take advantage of the heat mat I had to purchase all new gear this year and I should probably thank him because these are so much better than what I had. I grow almost everything from seed, so it's great to be able to have individual trays for each variety especially for peppers and tomatoes. You can fit 5 on a single heat mat and they fit perfectly under the ferry-morse grow light stand. PROS - The humidity dome has a vent which allows to adjust air flow as needed when it's not quite time to expose them to the low humidity world. - Incredibly easy to put together. I love the extra tray that allows you to water from the bottom every couple of days as opposed to having to set reminders to spray the plants daily. - They're a great size and you can stack them for easy storage once the season is done. - The humidity dome and the bottom tray are very sturdy CONS - I'm not 100% on the actual seed tray cells, they're deep but they're quite small and I am worried about the ease of getting more delicately rooted seedlings out to transplant without damaging the tray or the plants.

This was my second time purchasing these because they are so versatile. The first two sets I purchased maybe 5 years ago came in both large and small size inserts, with the small ones being the size of a plug (a large thumb). Before I started using these, I had a terrible track record with growing anything from seed, but having a steady water supply from the tray and higher humidity instantly boosted my success rate and confidence. Now, I have totally upgraded my set up with heat mats, lights, professional trays, etc. and have excellent germination of even challenging seeds. But, I still use these MIXC trays for some plants. Why? They’re perfect for germinating a smaller number of seeds, particularly if they are larger (cells are larger than standard plugs, allowing you to grow plants in the tray longer, either skipping the need to transplant to an intermediate pot or delaying it until your plant is larger and less vulnerable to transplant shock) or have different germination requirements than other seeds. They also make keeping track of what you’re growing a lot easier. Instead of using stake-style labels, I use a single sticker label or piece of masking tape for the entire tray. Lastly, while these lack the heft and durability of my other trays, the original set I bought years ago have been surprisingly durable. No cracking or tearing, not even the ones I’ve left outside. The fact that the inner tray is clear, thin plastic makes it easy to see how roots are developing and you can gently push plants out by collapsing the cell from the bottom.

Really like the small size 6 cup instead of a 24 cup size. I have a small garden space and these are great for 3 different plants for seed starters. Sturdy and easy to setup and use.

Perfect starter kit! Deep well with a hole in the bottom for draining into the tray. The cover with the valve is great for controlling humidity in the planter. Perfect product!

I've used these for a couple seasons now, but at this point, I think I'm just going to throw them out. If left on their own, even with all the vents open, these trays retain so much moisture that my seeds rot and I get weird stuff growing on top of the soil (not sure if it's a mold or a fungus or whatever). These 5 work just fine for someone in a different environment, but I'm trying to start seeds in a cool house (under 60 degrees) using a heat mat under the trays. Under those conditions, it's almost impossible to get the right balance of warmth and moisture to get the seeds to sprout without rotting. I've come to the conclusion that I need more space between my seed trays and their covers. For me, the moisture in these small trays gets out of contrel.

I purchased the 10-pack of MIXC seed starter trays with 120 cells and humidity domes for indoor seed starting for flowers, vegetables, and herbs. They assemble easily, are strong and durable, and should last for many seasons. Small and easy to transport they can easily be moved to access the best light requirements for seedlings since plants should be rotated towards their light source every several days to insure strong and straight growth. The humidity dome provides sufficient height for most seedlings and can be adjusted to create optimal moisture and airflow conditions needed for germination, providing ideal growing conditions much like a small greenhouse. The deep tray compartments hold an adequate amount of soil for starting even larger seeds and allowing for good root formation, which is easy to check through the clear plastic trays. The plant labels are convenient although I do wish they were larger and that there were more of them. I have had success using these seed starters under grow lights and on sunny windowsills, and by using seedling heat mats which greatly speed germination. I’ve also used a heating pad covered with foil to avoid getting it wet which also worked. Bottom watering is fine for large seeds but watering fine seeds with a mister keeps them in place in the soil and avoids overwatering which can cause root-rot depriving plants of oxygen resulting in the death of the plant. A moisture meter iis a great way to tell when plants need watering. I use soil especially made for seed starting since it is not as course and works better in seed starting trays. Removing the seedlings was easy using a toothpick run around the edges of the plant, then pushing up the bottom of the tray before gently pulling them out by the base of the plant to keep from damaging the delicate roots. The trays were easy to clean by soaking in hot water with a small amount of bleach which will sterilize them before using again. These seed trays are a fun and easy way to start seedlings and also introduce children to gardening. My grandchildren enjoy tracking the plants daily growth, making them a great value and worthwhile investment at only $16.99. They were well packaged, arrived in good condition and on time. Highly recommended.

Product as described. The inserts sit slightly off the bottom of the tray allowing you to fill it slightly so you can do bottom up watering, or just give it some extra water on a hot day once seeds established and your at work all day. They feel more durable then most of the locally acquired seed starting trays so I think you could easily get a few years out of them.

Vraiment pratique pour commencer son potager, mettre les graines et ensuite choisir les plantes en bonne santé avant de les transplanter dans un plus gros pot ! Je recommande vivement.
