Lundberg Short Grain Brown Rice, 25 Pounds, Organic (Packaging May Vary)

I have purchased this item 3 times. Previously, the 25 pound bag ran about 35 dollars. This time, I paid over $50. I understand that the prices of agricultural products are subject to significant variation but this was a big, unexplained increase. A quick note about why the price doubled would have helped me feel less like I was just paying more for no reason other than the seller saw an opportunity to jack up the price. Nevertheless, even at roughly $2/lb, it's still cheaper than buying the 2lb bags or in the bulk section at Whole Foods or my local natural foods co-op. The big bag is also a lot more convenient that buying small bags all the time (assuming one has the space). I eat a LOT of brown rice and I have tried just about every variety of brown rice I could get my hands on. This is by far my favorite. This particular rice is great in all sorts of applications (side dish, pilaf, base for stir fries or curries, filling stuffed peppers or cabbage, as well as for rice pudding). Lundberg is a great company utilizing sustainable agricultural practices that happens to grow the best rice around. I will continue to support Lundberg and to re-purchase this product.

This is the best brown rice I have tried so far. I used to cook this rice in a rice cooker (10 cup Oyama rice cooker) but now I use a pressure cooker (5 Ltr hawkins futura). I do soak the rice in the morning and then cook it in the evening. I have sometimes soaked the rice for ~24 hrs. (not a problem at all). The water to rice ratio is 2:1 for rice cooker and 1:1 for pressure cooker for me. The clean up is easier in the pressure cooker and also the rice turns out to be more soft in the pressure cooker. I used to get this rice from Costco (12 lb bag). Suddenly they stopped carrying it, which I noticed in the beginning of this year. I tried to find it online but the price including shipping was prohibitive. I tried a local brick and mortar organic store and the 25 lb bag there was nearly double but still less than the other online prices I saw. When I found this on amazon, I was so happy as my search finally ended. The subscribe and save price is amazing. I hope that amazon always carries this product.

I am so thankful for the Lundberg Family Farms for growing this wonderful organic short grain brown rice. It is so good and We cook it practically every day so finding it in a large amount was very helpful. We just store it in half gallon canning jars and don't worry about running out of rice To us the short grain rice is the tastiest of all the whole grain brown rice's we love it and it is one of the most nutritious of the brown rice family.

Stopped ordering due to the price increase 3 times now. Sad because it's pretty good rice but not worth the the $50 increase. The rice is very appealing and looks and tastes great. The cost was $38 when I got this but now it's 60+. Not sure if there was a deal but that's sad to see such a huge increase.

If I could give a zero star review, that’s what this product would get. We love this brand and brown rice flower, having eaten it for years. But paying this price and having no refund option is a huge loss as this product was infested with weevils upon arrival. We bought this to help the budget and truly hope the seller will reach out to make this right.

Delicious! Economical and more nutritious than reg white rice. It can be used in so many dishes, including those calling for pasta or potatoes.

I mostly use this particular rice to make my own rice milk, but it is also a really nice rice for other dishes too. I am quite happy with Lundberg rices, and I have purchased large quantities of different kinds of Lundberg rice for my family's needs over the last few years. We have multiple food allergies in this house, and therefore require purity in the grains and other foods we purchase. Lundberg only uses rice in their manufacturing of their products, so therefore there isn't a potential problem of cross contamination with other grains like we have encountered with some other rice brands so I am able to confidently purchase this rice knowing it is a pure product. I also love being able to purchase in large quantities, since my family goes through a lot of rice and other products from month to month.
