Jam-up and Jelly-tight
Bought the 6" stem by mistake. Packaged well. Returned to Amazon and bought the 12" stem ones. They work well, so I assume the 6" work as well.

Received today and tested accuracy by boiling water test, and it passed. The clip works well on my fluted edge saucepan. This was a problem with other thermometers. What I most like is the silicone tip. I left the tip on during the test and rested it on the bottom of the pan but the temperature wat not affected. Nice not to have to worry about placement in candy making as with other thermometers. I can see a potential problem with losing the tip in the drawer. Will have to be aware and careful. I also like the arrow marker that can be set for easier viewing of the determined goal temperature. Other reviewers have noted water accumulation in the dial. Glad to know and will be very careful around water. There are obvious problems but the benefits outweigh the problems.

Sturdy, just trying to assess its accuracy. It reads alot lower than the candy thermometer I used to use. It is sturdy unlike the latter.

Not reading acurate temperature
Have purchased this item as an additional one when I already have 2 smaller ones, analogue and digital. This item seemed to be reading low temperature so I compared multiple occurences with my existing ones. Was reading 110C when the 2 others were reading 150C, or frying oil was over 210C when this one only read 120C. Something is off with it, very disappointed with my purchase.
