Bernat Baby Blanket Big Ball White

I made a baby boy blanket out of this yarn & it turned out beautiful. It's so soft & cuddling & worked up very fast!

This is by far the best yarn I've ever worked with! It's so thick and soft. I first used this a year ago when I was pregnant with my son and since then this is the only yarn I work with. Other baby yarn sheds A LOT which is awful when your baby likes chewing on fabric. This is perfect because it doesn't shed, doesn't stretch out, and doesn't tear or unravel. I just made another baby blanket for my pregnant sister using lilac dove. I used baby lilac on the border and the lilac is a bit different than in the lilac dove but it doesn't make it look weird at all. I typically use an 8 mm hook and do either a single or double crochet (depending on the desired breathability). Single crochet makes it super heavy and warm where double crochet I use when I want to make a blanket to keep in my son's crib. The double crochet makes it so that if the blanket covers his face he can still easily breathe. Also with this being so thick there isn't a way where it can compress enough to get around his neck and strangle him so I feel safe having this in his crib with him. For baby blankets I use three big ball skeins and it makes a blanket roughly 47" x 47" using single crochet. I made a crib blanket using double crochet that is 19" x 22" and used less than one big ball and made a car seat blanket using one big ball. This yarn goes a long way.

Thicker than I thought but that's what the directions called for in the pattern I'm working on, color is good.

This is Mrs. Jonathan. I have recently finished a quick project with the baby blue color when I found this one. The yarn is like a jumbo crayon. It is large and easy to handle on large (15) needles. The description says "Spinrite", but the yarn is actually Bernat Baby Blanket brand, which is what I was looking for anyway. The skeins are shorter in length than ordinary yarn which I guess should be expected, as it is microfiber chenille greatness with much softness. If you are interested in trying a chenille-type yarn, I would vote for this brand variety. I have seen others, but they were made of acrylic. Besides feeling scratchy, they seemed to fall apart in knitting with little bits of fluff falling everywhere, even on the sample left out in front the bins.

This yarn was purchased for my daughter's birthday. It is a soft and lovely color, I think she'll enjoy it for her knitting and crocheting projects. The yarn is soft, plush, and perfect for quick baby projects—Bernat Baby Blanket Yarn is a dream to work with and holds up beautifully in the wash.

This is absolutely so soft, haven't made anything with it just yet, Totally looking forward to crocheting this into something soft and beautiful. Found better prices in stores for this yarn, lil pricey !
