Bienfang Sketching & Tracing Paper Roll, Canary Yellow, 12 Inches x 20 Yards - for Drawing, Trace, Sketch, Craft, Sewing Pattern

I keep rolls of tracing paper on hand for pattern drafting, especially since I’ve recently started sewing. I didn’t want to cut into my original patterns, so being able to trace them was really important to me. I decided to give this one a try, and it ended up being exactly what I needed. I’ve tried both the white and the canary yellow versions, and I definitely prefer the yellow—it reminds me of commercial pattern paper tissue. The roll itself is lightweight and feels like a good value for the price. One roll lasts me a while, depending on what I’m drafting. Nothing complicated here. I just roll it out, tape it down, and start working. It stays in place well with tape and is easy to manage, even straight from the roll. The 12-inch width is great for smaller pattern pieces like waistbands, sleeves, and collars. It’s also really useful for sample sizes and quick adjustments. For larger pieces like dresses or skirts, I do switch to a wider roll. The paper is easy to see through, which makes tracing existing patterns simple and accurate. I’ve used pencil, pen, and even a stylo marker on it, and it handles all of them well without issues. I also use it for tracing older patterns, and it works perfectly for that. No real issues for me. As long as you tape it down (with Artist's tape), it stays in place and is easy to work with. If you’re into sewing—especially as a beginner—this is a really practical tool to have. It makes pattern tracing easy, keeps your original patterns intact, and feels very similar to professional pattern paper.

A must for Designers

It’s butter paper, y’all — not collage paper or drawing paper! You sketch on it quickly and cost-efficiently. It’s great for overlaying multiple sheets to combine architectural layers or foreground + middle ground + background. Used it in art school; still love it now.

I tried a different brand and...lesson learned. This paper is just right for easily tracing sewing patterns, even detailed patterns but sturdy enough to hold up to multiple uses on projects. AKA, lots of pin holes because I'm not an anti pin snob :)

Best tracing paper ever

I’m a seamstress who mostly makes children’s clothing. This narrow paper works well for tracing small pattern pieces from PDF patterns. I have purchased 3 rolls and will likely purchase it again.

I use calligraphy inks and marker pens to doodle on this tracing roll. The tracing paper is thin (naturally! it's tracing paper!) yet pretty sturdy (if you want to tear a piece, you need to use scissors to cut). By the way, the roll is shrink wrapped so no worries about the roll being short (previous experience on being shorted a sheet or more on pads when purchasing in a bricks and mortar store).

I just started sewing so it was important for me to be able to trace my patterns instead of cutting them out. I went ahead and gave this a shot and it’s amazing I’m almost to the end of the roll and will definitely be buying again. It’s easy to see what you are tracing I use tape to hold down the paper and it works amazing

Apart from the colour and price there really isn’t much difference between the canary and the white. If you ultimately want to use this for any kind of finished art in black and white there will be no difference however if you will be relying on gradients then you may want to use the white. With both there’s no problem seeing even light pencil lines through the tracing paper and when drawing on top pencil, pen and ink go on smoothly. It’s surprising how often tracing paper comes in handy in a studio, you only really notice when you run out. I expect even with the smaller roll I won’t be running out any time soon. This is a brand name you can rely on and I say that from experience. Excellent product.
