The greatest portion of this book is the discussion of various grahas / plants in various rashis / signs. But like classic texts, Sri Kalyan Varma has given the phalam or results without reference to the Lagnas, which may change the results. Thus unless the Lagna is known, these results of grahas in rashis may not be of much use to us since change in Lagnas will change the effects of the grahas in a rashi. So Sri Santhanm has added a most critically important portion to every graha in every rashi - the effect from each of the 12 Lagnas. This makes things extremely clear and amazingly striking to the reader. Sri Santhanam's contributions in respect of his Notes is almost as great as the classic's.
