There’s gold in them hills!
I am by no stretch, a professional gold panner, but I figured out how to use it pretty quickly and effectively. Just remember to season it before you use it for best results. The color is nice because anything shiny shows up very clearly. The thickness adds to its durability and functionality. I forget what I paid for it but it was well worth it, I would say it already paid for itself.

Good
The only problem I had with this was the sticker that came on the plate. Took for ever to clean off.

Good size for a day pack
I really like this pan, I opted for this size so it can fit in a day pack while I'm hiking to panning spots. I've used it a few times and it works as it should. I have this one and a larger one but this one is the one I default to. Love the black color, it makes it easier to see your fine gold flakes.

Happy buyer!
I recommend Sluiceboy! My goal was to learn how to pan for gold with a reasonable chance of actually finding it. Sluiceboy made it happen. The first nice touch was a personalized, handwritten note in the package thanking me for my purchase. Things like that are meaningful to me. I own a field service company and courtesy and communication are #1 for customer satisfaction. Second, I found gold in the first 3 tablespoon pan. I don’t say WOW much but I did when I saw the first flakes. Happy Happy. I’m traveling to visit 2 teenage grandkids in a couple of weeks and I’ve ordered 3 more 2.5lb bags and pans so me and the kids can pan together. When I told their mom to expect the package she said she had always wanted to try panning and is ordering two 2.5lb bags for her and husband. Thank You Sluiceboy.

Well I haven't found any gold yet, so...
...I'm not quite sure how to evaluate this product. It's DEFINITELY one of the smaller and less robust pans available (I chose it specifically for those reasons, easier to carry around in a backpack). Note this pan doesn't have shelf sides, rather just a series of 1/16" ridges on one side of the pan. It's NOT heavy-duty -- fill it to the brim with water and it flexes -- so probably not a great choice for a hardcore gold panner. Seems adequate in terms of size and durability for a n00b like me. Now, if I could JUST find some gold...

Love this pan!!!
I have a lot of pans as most of us do. Garrett, from the super sluice to the gold traps, Minelab , XP pans and betea pan. Even have a couple SE 14" and 8" but this 10" pan is my goto for small cleanups. Up to a cup or two. Love the wide bottom and the angle of the wall. The black color has made it so much easier to see the colors. We have mostly flour gold around here. Like having the surface area of a 15" pan without the weight. Did I say I love this pan.

Such a great buy. My kids and I had so much fun using these this summer. We even found some flour gold. I like that they’re lightweight so you can easily carry them around for some time.

Gave it a scrub with dawn, a scuff with sandpaper, a scoop, a shake, shakeback, swirl and a tap. WOW look there's that there gold in the pan! Notes: 160-200 grit sandpaper best results working ↪️↩️ around the walls horizontal circle, bunch one way, bunch the other way all the way around except the riffles. Work on the walls from the shoulder to the flare/rim. Finger and sandpaper in between each riffle and back forth a bit, work each face but avoid rounding off the riffles keep it plane to the surface you're working. Keep those riffles sharp! Don't overdo it they don't need much at all, the pan will work in some more as soon as you start panning. Then a bit of those small circles to scuff the bottom a little helps when you're separating the last of the cons with a tap and shakeback do another light back and forth or 2 around the shoulder should look pretty and work well. This is way too descriptive and in reality should be pretty fast and only take you a few minutes tops. Alternatively you can lose some fine gold until your pan is worked in or you can grab some sand or gravel and work it around the pan if you're already at the creek! I know people have different ideas well this is mine. I figure better to use finer sandpaper than 60-120grit(but not too smooth!) than create a bunch of random deep scratches right away in the bottom of your pan, (you'll get enough already don't speed up the process) or on the clean side of the wall where you might want to clear some of that ultra fine black sand out until your cons are minimal. Maybe it won't matter but anyway this takes minimal time. Plus is your pan looks a lot prettier when done and it works great even on the fine stuff. You really just want the edge to catch your finger and stick and not be smooth, slick and glossy. That's all you need. Anything finer than like 220 grit isn't going to be coarse enough and may make the pan worse. You don't want to polish it. Was able to have serious control panning off more of the cons with this texture on the walls. Ignoring the fact that all gold pans are really just prospecting tools this is very much a "prospecting" sized pan and one you can easily fit in your pack or give to your kids. You want it to work right away and work quickly testing spots. You're not moving a ton of material with it but it'll get the job done. Bonus: Can hold food

This feels like good quality plastic, sturdy and well made. Thank you so much!!!

This pan works very well. It is a good color that makes it easier to distinguish between the colors of the rocks. It is a little bit pricier then I had hoped since it is just plastic. However it gets the job done so I can’t complain too much.
