Water Alarm ( 2 pack )

I purchased the package a few months ago that came with three (3) sensors and the wireless hub. My sump pump had been stuck on and would run until it overheated. Then it would reset and run again until it overheated again. So I unplugged the pump with the intentions of running to Home Depot to get a replacement. Well I got sidetracked and never made it to Home Depot. About 2am that night I woke up and realized I had forgotten to re-plug in the sump pump. I ran downstairs and after the last step, my first step on to the carpet was met with a squishy feel and wetness. ARGHHHH. Water had backed up and about 6' by 2' of my carpet had been soaked. I plugged the pump in and the water was ejected. Next day ran to Home Depot and got a replacement. This event made me want to get water sensors. I did a bit of research and bough this kit from Amazon. Super easy setup, push notification and email alerts. Just last week one of the sensors in another room in the basement went off where I had a sensor. I went down and there was a little bit of water. I investigated and it turns out the drain in the window had gotten clogged and the water had gotten to the window and leaked in. This little guy caught it right away and saved me a TON of hassle. This last even made me want to get a couple more to put near the other windows in my basement. For what I have paid for the original package and these two, I have far saved by catching early what could have been a very very costly water issue. I can't recommend these enough. They catch it early and give you time to remediate the issues. This is much better than waking up the next day to walk into a the horror of a flooded basement or other area. Small price to pay for such great piece of mind easement!

this is a good product, got a few of this more than a year ago, very reliable

I used to use detectors that make a loud noise when a leak is detected, but that only helps if we are home. I wanted to be alerted whether I am home or not, hence the installation of this Govee solution which will sound a local alarm but also send me a text message. I purchased a gateway with three sensors, a set of 5 sensors and a set of 2 sensors, so 10 sensors total, the max a gateway will support. Configuration, placement and testing of the sensors was drop dead easy. I configured and tested each sensor at my desk by wetting my finger and placing it across the sensors. I then placed all the sensors and positioned the gateway in the center of my home. I have a 3000 sq ft single story home that is somewhat long and narrow, so I was worried one gateway might not reach all the sensors, and sure enough it didn't. I moved the gateway a couple of times until I found a place where it worked for all sensors, which was toward one end of the house, not the center. All in all I am very happy with this solution, I just wish it supported a couple more sensors. I need to buy another gateway with three sensors, I just haven't done so yet, hoping they will come out with a firmware update that supports 12 sensors (one can hope).

In not familiar with water detectors , but comparing ratings here , I consider them to have been a good value . Worked well for me- caught a couple of leaks. If could find a well reviewed unit with WiFi capability, I’d pay for that feature. But at The time of purchase none of the WiFi units had even 4 stars ☹️ Besides “moisture detected”, These ALSO have a “low battery alarm” sound KNOW THIS !!!!! The “low batt” alarm does !NOT! Sound like the “water detected” alarm“ That cost me a $$ HVAC service call, as I thought the sound was from my furnace and paid for a service call! Agree with other reviewers-if they get wet, they are a pita to silence, Plan A/ blow on them s lot Plan-B lv them upside down / under a pillow 🥴

Tested and they work, so far not have gone off so that's good.

I cant tell you how many times these water sensors have saved my day! One just alerted me of a broken supply line from my water softener. Another time it alerted me of a toilet malfunction. Last year while vacationing in Alaska, my phone alerted me of a water leak in my basement. Luckily my daughter lives close by and she was able to shut off the water until we returned home. These sensors saved me from thousands of dollars in repairs. I now have one under every sink, refrigerator ice maker and water heater in my home. I highly recommend them!!!

One year since I bought these and they are still working fine. Saw some reviews about people getting duds but I'm glad both of mine still work properly. The AA batteries last about a year while powering these so you will need to set a timer for yourself to change them at least once a year

I have already bought a set of five with hub ,Then I thought those two to extend the number of sensors They are very sensitive and powerfull , Can save your property Keep in mind you need a hub if you want to connect them to your phone and use goove application

These detectors arrived today, and the one I tested worked fine in shallow water. Testing demonstrated the alarm isn't super loud - audible on same floor, and probably one floor away unless the house is super noisy. Not sure it would be heard two floors away, especially if sleeping. What other reviewers have said about the 4 screws securing the battery chamber is true: they are *tiny*. Be sure when removing or putting them back, that you are in a place that will make it easy to find a dropped screw. I have a 5/64" screwdriver that worked with these screws, manual recommends PH00 or PH0 screwdriver. You have to be careful as the screws will strip easily. When putting the screws back I didn't screw them quite all the way in, to make it easier to remove them in future. Haven't tested the low-battery alarm yet. Couldn't decide whether to give 3 or 4 stars. Decided on 4 because with preparation the screw problem is manageable, so the the main issue is alarm volume, and how much that matters depends on your home.
