Great unit with only minor changes desired
I've got two of these chargers running 24/7. One has been running nearly constant since mid-June 2014 and the other has been in use since late April 2015. I'm also using the IQ4 controller to tie them together. These are used to run computer equipment tied to a large battery.(Currently, one unit is active at a time due to circuit limits on the 120v side. I swap them out about weekly.) These units have been running great. They run a pretty constant 45 amps without any problems. When the power goes out and runs down the battery, the chargers kick in with more amperage to run the equipment and charge the battery. My only wish is that the units came with lug terminals instead of screw terminals on the DC side. The screw terminals accept up to 4ga cable and, in my experience, the cable gets pretty warm when the device is operating fully. That's not the fault of the charger, but I would like to use larger cable. I also plan on buying more in the future, but it doesn't seem you can connect more than two units. *** Update 1/9/2017 *** I've been running these two chargers basically 24/7 since I got them. They are wonderful. Each device constantly runs between 30-40 amps DC output without a problem and when I disconnect one, the other easily takes over up to the maximum of 55 amps. I'm looking at either upgrading to the DLS-90 or adding an additional charger, but I still have my (apparently unique) situation of needing to connect more than two chargers to the IQ4, which does not appear to be possible.

Good rectifier!
Easy to install. Set output voltage of 13.5VDC. The max output current is rated at 55 amps. Simple plug in 120Vac input. Easy ground lead connection. Good rectifier, why buy anything else?

Works well as a Midtronics replacement!
Have bought a few of these for battery voltage maintainer, used during vehicle module programming. Half the cost of the recommended factory maintainer. Just add about 5 feet of cable with ends from a decent set of jumper cables (one set of cables will make two). Good to go then.

Iota is the best
This is my second one, the first is still going strong over 10 years in service, Iโve set up a second solar system and this is the backup charger, exact same specifications as the other, superior quality and made in America, I advise you buy Iota if you want dependability at an affordable price

Perfect for my needs, stable and reliable 12v power supply
Love this charger. Have been using it for several months now. Initially got it to top off my 12v battery bank. But since I switched to 24v (and got its 24v brother) this is now used to deliver 12V power to the rig. Will see how it ages over time, but so far it seems nice and solid. Pretty pleased with its 2 year warranty as well. One issue is that, as with its 24v brother, it appears that little plug it comes with, that's supposed to raise the voltage on the unit, appears to do both diddly and squat. Plugged or unplugged nothing changes, not voltage, not Amps delivered, nada. It still delivers power, when it's needed, upto it's rated output, just nothing changes with that plug. But I don't need it to do bulk charging, I just need a stable and reliable 50amp 12v power supply. And for that it's A+.

Works perfectly
Super easy install, quite, and it works! No more flickering lights and heater fan modulation.

converter/charger with modular upgrade available
I was looking for an RV converter that was also good as a charger, and this one looked like the price/performance winner. It's a modern switching power supply with a small footprint, and on command it can operate at a high enough voltage to rapidly bulk charge your properly sized flooded-cell lead-acid deep cycle battery (the dual-voltage key to accomplish this is included with the converter, taped to the cooling fan). Temperature compensation for charge voltage is not available, and I found the use of a square-key bolt for the battery cables perplexing and irritating. I would have much preferred the more common hex-key bolt. Combined with an inexpensive IOTA IQ4 charge controller, the DLS-55 becomes an automatic 3 stage charger with equalization every 7 days. I liked this as a cheaper, modular solution for my battery maintenance needs. If I am not happy with the IQ4, I can easily replace it with a more expensive charge controller and use it with the DLS-55.
