Works! Easy to install! Great value!
I was irritated that the VW OEM lock stopped working in the first place. Seriously, why does a lock like this wear out ever? But they do, and this after market lock for the Tiguan is an identical replica. You need a special star wrench to screw out the old one (why wouldn't VW use a common wrench? - got a single star that fit my ratchet set at an auto store). This after market lock seems to be just a good as the OEM VW lock, for a fraction of the cost.

Excellent Replacement For My 2012 Golf Varient\Estate lock
My 2012 VW Golf Variant trunk motor was gone and it couldnt lock perfect and even if it did lock it was a problem to open.Thank God I Found this. It looked like it wouldnt fit but it did pirfectly. Thanks Again

Fits great and does the job
I had someone rear end me a few years back and the replacement unit failed. This unit has done great so far. I also noticed that it has much less stress on the latch. Maybe that is just the way I installed it but it does not POP when opened. Unfortunately I had to purchase a small 10 point socket set but otherwise it's all good. Install was trivial.

Very poor quality. I even gave it a second chance and it failed twice.
Very poor quality. I purchased this latch for my 2013 Jetta. It lasted about 12 months and one week. Just outside of their warranty periods. I decided to purchase another one thinking that is was a one off issue. The second one that I purchased lasted no more than six weeks. I might open my trunk on average twice per week so it only lasted it only opened the trunk maybe 10 to 12 times before breaking again. Very disappointed.

One day my 2011 TDI Sportwagen hatch would not close out of nowhere. Bought this installed in 30 minutes and itโs back working. Might need to buy an extra ๐คฃ
