good piece of equipment works well reads slow at times but so far accurately to a pretty good degree
this meter works well we called the company and spoke to the male (sales guy/tech) good help and want over meter and calibrated it three times (meter got more closer to the 4.01 (around 4.02, 4.03 (it does it times tak a while to find itself and can wounder around +/- 5 (there is a window of 3.96 to 4.06 which is 4 ). we tried several meters the Oakton EcoTestr pH 2 is a good meter but it only reads 0.0 good back up and it really works wells out of the others. for the Milwaukee MW102 PH and Temperature Meter we find it works just a little better and gives more reading. Calibration works best if you use wash sample 4.01 than to sample 4.01 with temp prop and repeat. this meter is not junk it does take a little time to read to higher level the Oakton EcoTestr pH 2 is faster but not has accurate but close. the Milwaukee MW102 PH unit is a basic PH meter with temp sample field unit good price in market for what it is--(no data sd card slots etc...). thanks milwaukee. (if the unit goes bad or anything i will post it so far so good). unit is runing ok so far had to re calibrate (did it several) times with wash 4.01 and the test 4.01 etc.. and the meter sames to be reading +/- about 2 or 3 more close to 2. the meter works well just wish it would find its calibration zone faster. there are times where is just struggles to find the calibration and the Oakton EcoTestr pH 2 is all ready there. I have ordered cleaning solution to see if this helps. ok i am returning this unit the 102 and will try the Milwaukee 105 pro model. the 102 just too many time takes to long to find it self to many times, eats up way to much time and i have to 2nd check it (so if i check 50 pools a day this meter will kill me... maybe probe change or broad but i can not use it working like this. i will update on the Milwaukee 105 pro after using it i will update findings. OK Milwaukee 105 pro works great. We had to call the company and get a replacement probe for unknown reason the 1st probe was faulty. the tech guys at Milwaukee are very helpful and help us with new replacement probe. the Milwaukee 105 reads a little faster it sames than the 102 but the run is at time very close. BUT it works very well and both PH and TEMP are displayed on screen with this unit makes it nice to not have to switch screens. (the Oakton EcoTestr pH 2 is faster). this test is great for bench and table work. (after calibration this 105 meter was 100% on the money 4.00 and 7.00 and reads with a very high degree accuracy. Final NOTE: Both units 102 and 105 Milwaukee's are (2 points) calibration the Oakton EcoTestr pH 2 is a (3 point) we called many companies for the answer and we are told that 3 points calibrate faster and many companies are moving to the pens and 3 point and auto cal from factory like the Oakton EcoTestr pH 2 this pen has factory calibration without any butter set by the factory watch you can at any time set it back to factory ((we checked factory and it is right on for 4.0 ((not 0.00)) that good. like to see other meters have this option. conclusion: 102 and 105 Milwaukee's are (2 points)slower than (3 points) work great. Great product and the Milwaukee's customer service was very helpful and fixed any issues. the Oakton EcoTestr pH 2 we use and it is a great meter with great factory reset calibration without solution. hope this helps all and please leave commands for others if you want thank you.

Amazingly accurate, the best meter I have used so far.
I use a PH meter for Hydroponics. I have been through several PH Meters from several manufacturers over the past 2.5 years. I had the HM PH200 Digital pen & had to keep replacing the probe, a few cheap yellow Milwaukee pens that just die & a few other $50 meters. Needless to say, I have been pretty disappointed. Between faulty probes & units unable to hold calibration, I never can get accuracy. I finally had enough & after researching meters a bit, I settled on this one due to price & the reviews. So far I am very happy with this unit. I have more faith in the calibration & readings of this unit. During calibration, this meter requires you to calibrate to 7.01 & then do a slope calibration to 4.01. I have not seen this with other meters, but once calibrated the unit is very accurate & holds calibration without issues. I may have made it sound complicated, but it is pretty easy to calibrate. After about a week, I usually recalibrate, but when I go to recalibrate, I find it is only off by 0.02 at most, which is within acceptable limits. Nonetheless, I recalibrate it anyway since I have the solution out anyway. I also like that this meter uses temperature to adjust PH readings accordingly, increasing accuracy. Not all meters, especially the cheaper ones, adjust the reading for the temperature. My last pen had a little sponge in the cap that would dry out rather quickly, so even in storage I would have to check it often & reapply storage solution to prevent it from drying out. But this meter has a little bottle that slips over the probe which holds a generous amount of storage solution when the meter not in use. I feel I could leave this unit with the bottle of solution on the probe in storage much longer without checking it & not have the probe dry out. I like that it has a little hourglass indicator that tells you if it is done taking a reading. Readings sometimes take a while, especially in moving liquid. However, in standing liquid with no movement you will get a reading pretty quickly. What I do is leave the probes in the sample I am testing for a little while (5-10 mins) & then take my reading, I find I get a more consistent & accurate reading when I do this. The wires on the probes are long, which is nice, but the unit is a little large & holding the unit along with 2 probes to get a reading is a little more cumbersome than with the pen meters available. Since the cables are a decent length, you can set the unit down & hold only the probes, making it easier to handle. I was concerned the cables would short out at the plug after repeated use because they are not that thick, so I applied a little electrical tape where the wire meets the plug to alleviate stress on the cable. But even if they do fail from constant use over time, replacement probes are pretty cheap compared to some meters out there. For me, I am only interested in getting accurate measurements because PH is very important in hydroponics. So even though this meter isn't the most convenient thing to use, I am more confident in the readings I get when using this meter & it's accuracy shows in my garden. I highly recommend this unit.

After reading various sources about pH testers and how to maintain them, I thought it might help others to share. Can't warrant 5 stars, because the kit really needs extra storage solution, and I don't know whether the readings obtained were accurate. I accidentally ordered this tester instead of the one with the spear probe for food, but decided I would try to test jam anyway. Yes, the probe came covered in crystallized storage solution, and apparently this is normal. Website eSeasonGear says, "It is normal to see some salt crystals on the pH/ORP electrodes. The salt is from dried storage solution and can easily rinse off with water." I made another mistake in not also purchasing storage solution since there was almost no solution left in the cylinder. But I read on the Milwaukee site that you can use buffer to store the probe. I used leftover 7.01 buffer. Another review said to clean off the hardened solution with cleaning solution, which I didn't have. I used distilled water. Something to note about distilled water is that there are not enough ions in distilled water to get an accurate reading of it, AND since the water has been exposed to air, it will absorb (?) carbon and become acidic. So, don't expect distilled water to be neutral. Tap water on the other hand tested neutral. The instructions say to use beakers to rinse the probe. And then to use the buffer to rinse it before calibrating. And then you calibrate by putting the probes straight into the packets of buffer. I got the pH meter to make sure the fig jam we made had enough acidity to can. Since we will use the meter only 2 or 3 times a year, storage solution would be best to have. Without storage solution, the probe can become damaged and inaccurate. Add a little packet of storage solution, and I would give 5 stars. Unfortunately, I could not find calibrating, cleaning, and storage solutions as a kit in packets on Amazon. Once these packets are opened, they have a shorter shelf life. (Apparently, air is acidic and so will cause opened solutions to change in pH.) Will have to order those elsewhere. One more thing to really give this kit 5 stars: a storage bag that hangs vertically so the storage solution doesn't leak.

Excellent ph meter.
Great instrument, I use it for home wine making. Very easy to use, calibrated it once for 2 years of use. Had to buy another one because my first one got lost in a move. Lots of other choices out there but this ph tester is simply great. If I lose this one I will not hesitate to replace it with the same model again. I like it that much. Highly recommend it.

Works great for Cheesemaking, fast, easyand great price!
I have a small artisan creamery and use this for cheesemaking. It is easy to use and calibrate unlike 2 other brands I have used and as accurate. I have had one for almost 2 years and it works pretty well at a much better price. I had just as many problems with my $600. PH meter (they are all finicky)! I replace the probe as needed. After 2 years I bought a new entire unit to have a back up.

BUYER BEWARE: Manufacturer/Supplier DOES NOT Allow Returns, Even if Unit is Defective!
Product arrived DOA and would not calibrate or read PH. First time use and it just flashes 16.00 and gets an incorrect solution message when calibrating. I figured no biggie, things happen, and products get damaged in shipment. Well, I tried to create a return and it was rejected. I was quite sure there had been some mistake in their system that caused this, so I reached out to Amazon and this is the message I got back: "Due to some restrictions made by our suppliers and manufacturers, we cannot accept the return of this item at any of our fulfillment centers." Still, Amazon did me right and refunded my money. So, this is no dig on them. I think this is total baloney though that whoever supplies these expensive meters, or Milwaukee themselves, does not stand behind their product and offer refunds or exchanges. In the grand scheme of things, $120 is nothing to Amazon, but it's a loss for them nevertheless. This product should not be sold by them or anyone else unless they offer a better product guarantee.

Unprofessional
The Phmeter arrived with electrode cup completely dry. The electrode need be stored in storage liquid solution all the time.

Great Product and Price!
Exactly what I was looking for in function and price point. I have used the "older" model of this brand and it stood the test of time and now looking for another fleet for very busy labs.
