Bright and simple to fit - sort of
It's nice a bright and simply requires two spring clips to be screwed to the ceiling, and then the light clips securely in - BUT - one thing may cause issues for certain installations. I suspect many people will be replacing old failed flu fittings and this is slimmer and brighter. The snag is that flu fittings, being much deeper had the connection inside the housing. The old chock block fitting just sat inside. Now we have more modern connectors, but they would be fine inside. This fitting has no inside! On each edge is a slot running the length - about 6mm wide and deep and the unit has a pre attached and non removable two core (not 3) flexible cable. this runs in the slot with the intention that it goes through the ceiling and termination is done above. A couple of wages, pop through a suitable hole and the FT+E (no earth) sits in the cavity. In my case the ceiling was painted, but the new fitting cannot be centred on the hole, the hole must be offset to one side to allow the fixture cable to sit in the slot - revealing a strip of unpainted ceiling. I had to extend the hole, luckily on the right side of the joist, so it worked. Had the joist been on the other side, the unpainted section would have been visible. The fixture is bright, well made and I'd buy another, but the cabling isn't made very obvious.

VERY BRIGHT!
Bought the 1200mm long batten. Very bright - 40W input - equivalent brightness is I think approximately that of 8 "old" 50W halogen downlighters. Good for large space lighting. Probably too bright for under cabinet lighting. Lightweight and very slim fitting. The two metal support clips are designed for direct fixing to ceiling and are sprung steel. Reasonably easy to fix. The batten light then just clips in. The light fits tight to the ceiling, and it is important to note that there is no room to effect a wiring connection within the batten. . So the connection to say a ring main must be external to the light either in a ceiling void or ceiling mounted connector box. ( not supplied). Because the batten is flush to the ceiling the exit wire (only live/neutral) from the batten needs a small indent in the ceiling - if the wire is to exit along the ceiling - to allow the batten to sit flush. This is the 2nd of this type of light which I have bought. Looks sleek and is VERY BRIGHT!

Fits very neatly. Very, Very bright
I wanted to replace an ordinary 4ft strip light. This item looked just the job because it is so neat. Lumens is a new concept to me - I know it measures brightness - but how bright is a lumen? It was easy to fit except the connector. It was too big to fit under the lamp, so I had to create a hole in the ceiling and push it through. The connection wasn't that great: the wires kept coming out while I was pushing it through the ceiling. So I had to climb in the loft and pull up the loft insulation and connect it from there. Anyway once fitted it was bright, very bright: it was like daylight. I really wanted warm white and cool white is too icy, but hey ho, it's not bad. Then it started flickering. So badly I was going to return it. But what to replace it with? I was not going to mount the original strip light, it was far to cumbersome. I know I thought I'd go for one at half the watts. So that's what I did. Can you imaging when I received one half the length! Thinking about it now I can see that's all I need - I only needed 4ft because the original strip light was 4ft. The reason that I ended up with a 2ft lamp is that if you select 20w in the option boxes it changes the title and cuts it down to 2ft. Similarly 10w is 1ft long, but these lights are so bright, I seriously suggest checking how many lumens you actually need. Then after all this the original 4ft one I bought stopped flickering. Fortunately I somewhere else to put the 2ft one!

LED battens
These batten led lights were bought for a project I was finishing, they are light and easy to install. They come with all the fixings needed, the only issue I had was the connectors for the mains input, I used my own as I was struggling to get them connected with those supplied. The light level is clear and bright and spreads throughout the room, only a small room but these light up better than expected. For the price I bought 2, and I am glad I did as this can be used elsewhere. The fixings are easy just two screws, one on each metal bracket, and then clip on the light. Very pleased with the quality and timely delivery, a lot of lighting for the price and would definitely recommend.

Easy to fit and very bright
Now have three of them in the workshop. Excellent lights. Easy to fit to wherever you need them. Being LEDs they don't get hot, after several hours of being switched on they have a normal surface warmth. And of course they consume a very small amount of electricity. They are easy to install under shelves and on rafters/battens or on the wall. Only issue is the cable isn't removable that I can see, willing to be corrected. So you have about 400mm of two core cable hanging out of the side near the end to which you can add a connector, junction box, or a plug to plug it into a socket that's connected to the mains. I'd have preferred them to have no wire and I'll fit my own because that would avoid the junction. But with a simple kettle connector on them they work fine. Very bright and even light. Impressed thus far. If anything changes I'll update this review.
