Bought to upgrade my iMac 27" 5K 2019 3GHz 6-Core Intel Core i5 from 8GB to 32GB as I've started to do more video editing and my machine was struggling a bit while using Adobe After Effects. Easiest installation ever, worked perfectly as soon as I turned the machine on. It feels a lot less sluggish now. I have opened InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop at the same time (something the machine used to struggle with) and opened various large working files. I can flick between all 3 programs a lot smoother than I used to. Very very happy with my purchase.

Bought for a 2019 iMac 21.5". Installation, by Apple's design, was an absolute PITA. Starting with cutting the screen off, I followed a 38 step online tutorial to disassemble my iMac and remove the logic board to install the RAM. So far so good, I already had all of the necessary miniature Torx tools and the RAM went in easy enough. Reassembly was straightforward. Had new glue strips to replace the screen. Switched on. Nothing. No activity whatsoever, just a black screen. Pressing my ear to the back of the computer chassis, I could hear very faint noise then silence when I powered the machine off. This is a symptom of faulty RAM or no RAM. So when you do this, don't do as I did (as instructed online) and glue the screen back in place prior to testing - use masking tape. The newly glued screen was much harder to remove this time and I need to buy new glue strips. On examination under a magnifying glass, although clipped in place, the top strip of RAM was seated at a very slight angle. I took out both strips and firmly reseated them. Did this a few times to ensure a clean contact. Reassembled again, switched on and after a slight delay (there is a slight delay on first boot up after new RAM is fitted) my new, much speedier, iMac burst into life. It's worth noting that according to Crucial's website, the official maximum supported RAM in my 2019 iMac is 32GB. However, Flex had tested this model and stated that it will operate with 64GB installed. Happy that Flex were right and that the full 64GB is recognised and available to my applications.

I purchased this to upgrade the RAM on a 2017 5K iMac 27". I've used Crucial before on other Macs (MBP and Mini) and have always found the quality to be good for the price. Although the iMac 27" has a hatch at the back of the screen to make RAM updates easy, it was a little trickier than I had expected to get the RAM recognized by Mac OS. My iMac came as standard with 8GB (2 x 4GB), so I put the RAM cards into the 2 empty slots. Upon starting, the iMac came on, but gave a permanent black screen. I then tried to reset the NVRAM/PRAM as others have explained, but this didn't work. I took out the RAM cards and replaced again because some reviewers suggested it is hard to get a snug fit into the iMac RAM slots. I again performed a NVRAM/PRAM reset. I actually thought that this had failed again and whilst trying to find the Crucial Helpdesk number realized that the iMac flickered to life. As such, I think a degree of patience is required for the Mac OS to recognize the new RAM upon first installation.... Never had this problem with either my MBP or Mac Mini, but then again, these were straight replacements, whereas this was to install new memory into the 2 empty slots of the iMac. I'm very happy with the performance of the iMac now - 40GB should be more than enough for my current statistical analysis and computational modeling needs.

Easy to install and works well so far in my Apple iMac 5k 2017 now with 24GB. Graphics speeded up a bit but Photoshop is limited by the iMac's graphics card. Bit expensive but not as expensive as Apple's memory.

Para todos aquellos que no lo saben y quieren cambiar o incrementar la memoria de su iMac, Macbook Pro, etc. Les recomiendo ampliamente este modelo y sobretodo esta marca. Puede que no sea muy conocida en México pero en el gabacho es ampliamente usada. Solo basta revisar los reviews de Amazon USA para darse cuenta. La Marca Crucial no es la más barata pero si es de las mejores especializadas en Mac. En el caso de las iMac fíjate si la tuya tiene una tapita en la parte de atrás, justo arriba de donde se conecta el cable. Es muy facil añadir o intercambiar los dimms. Solo tienes que tener cuidado de escoger el dimm que es compatible con tu computadora. En este caso estos dimms son perfectamente compatibles con las iMacs 5k de 27" 2017 y 2018. Hay que tener mucho cuidado al escoger memoria RAM para Mac. Aunque puede parecer que muchos modelos le quedan, no es así. La más pequeña variación y tu memoria será inutilizable. Este modelo cumple exáctamente lo que Apple pide y además el fabricante lo está menconando en la descripción. Aparte estas son dual channel, lo que te permite tener dimms diferentes por sector. Por ejemplo uno de 16gb y otro de 4gb (el que viene en la mac) y así tendrás 20 ó 40. Te la recomiendo mucho si quieres ahorrar mucho dinero. Instalarla en una iMac es muy pero muy sencillo. En una MacBook Pro también es sencillo siempre que no venga soldada a la placa base. Esta es una compra casi mandatoria para todo aquel que invierte en una computadora de estas características. Inclusive si añades 8 gb extras a la iMac de entrada el cambio en desempeño es impresionante. Lo mínimo que debería de traer una computadora así son 16Gb. Pero todas traen 8. Espero que te haya servido mi mini reseña.
