There is some confusion about the lock on the back. The lock doesn't not lock the blade from extending nor retracting. The lock keeps the shell from coming apart. Unlock and you can open the shell and flip or replace the blade. If you want a cutter that doesn't automatically retract the blade look for the orange colored model.

**Q: Can you only press the button with your thumb when holding it in your right hand?  Or is there another slider on the other side for lefties?**
A: Only one slider on one side but it works using your left hand as it does using your right hand.  You slide bar with finger instead of thumb and thumb presses against back side of razor knife.

**Q: Buy x1=$6 or x12=$94.  Is this a byproduct of that new math my kids are learning in public school?**

Awazing to open boxes. Doesn't have a metal blade, which I love. My kids can use it too, and they really enjoy it. I also love that the blade retracts, and you don't have to worry about it staying out.

Best box opener! The magnet keeps it on my fridge so I don't loose it, which I would do! It fits well in my hand and is comfortable to hold. The cutting edge doesn't cut skin but it will cut right thru tape, cardboard, plastic wrapping and the juice box inside so be careful. This is definitely worth the purchase. The only negative is that the lock doesn't work. I have to hold the blade slider in the out position, but that's not difficult at all so I don't mind.
