If you've ever pulled anything, you have that feeling it might fall off, might come loose, etc. I had that feeling for about 50 miles on my initial trip with my bike on this rack. After checking it a few times along the way (after all, I was nervous about attaching an expensive bike to this thing and going 70 mph down the road), I learned nothing came loose. I have complete faith that this secure my bike on a road trip. The furthest I have gone is about 100 miles or 200 miles round trip. This is a very solid unit, other people have mentioned it's a little heavy, but I'll take that over some of the flimsy plastic looking things I've seen other people pull up with. As far as assembly, I thought it was pretty easy. If you've ever assembled a piece of furniture from Target or Walmart... you can put this together. I like the fact that it tilts down, however I haven't used that feature; but it's nice to have. You can also fold the unit so it becomes more compact while you're not hauling your bikes but want to leave the rack attached your vehicle. It also comes with a hitch pin lock, another added bonus, you have piece of mind that no one is going to walk away with your hitch while you're on the trails. A long cable with a lock also comes with the unit so you can lock up your bikes if you're camping or stop somewhere.

This definitely is one nice rack. I am way more than Wowed and impressed. It actually looks really good mounted. It takes me honestly about 1 minute to mount and secure my bike. The features of this rack are incredible. The anti-wobble mechanism is a game changer. I’ve seen so many bikes being transported that look like they are on a carnival ride. This rack holds the bikes firmly and secure. There is still a bit of minimal wobble side to side but very, very minor. I love the middle mounted stabilizer hook for securing the bike, it is very quick and efficient. When the rack is empty and compacted towards the rear hatch, there is no problem opening the hatch. With the bikes mounted the tilt feature allows me to open the the hatch without a problem. Repositioning the rack into, closed, carry or tilt function is about a 15 second process. Smooth and easy. The finish of the rack is exceptional. The Machining of the components are first class. One little tip, DO NOT OVER-TIGHTEN the holding hook, otherwise you will possibly have a hard time unfastening it. I placed a microfiber rag in between just in case. That way I can pull the rag out if I need slack. Overall, this rack is exceptional value for the money. I would buy it again and I highly recommend it. 😎 JS SAYN

Mainly use this as a 2 bike rack system but have used it several times as a 4 bike rack with the Hollywood Sportrider 2 bike add-on and it is the best bike rack out there! We wanted a rack that would be very stable, solidly made and carry our bikes in the normal upright position and be easy to load. We got all of these things with this rack system. The way the attachment to the vehicle receiver hitch is made the rack can be tightened to where there is no wobble in the rack even on rough terrain. Don't throw away your money on those so called "name brand" racks that you hang the bikes on and tie down with rubber straps on the rack. The straps break and it's a pain to load the bikes and to get them off. You look like you are baiting a hook with a wiggling worm and in the end you are not sure it's going to stay where you put it. Hollywood Racks have a unique hold down system that can actually be worked with just one hand. The rack can be folded up with just one simple lock pin and can be removed from the vehicle hitch just as easily. No more wrestling with loading or unloading bikes for me since I got this rack system! This is a real professional bike rack system.

Easy to assemble and adjust; mostly steel and aluminum parts, but the sliding hooks to hold the frames upright have a plastic component. I have bikes with different wheel bases, but adjusting the rack is simple. The hooks fold down and the platform folds up toward the vehicle when not in use, so it doesn't stick out much. With the hooks down and the tires strapped into their metal loops, the bikes are securely attached to the rack. Speed bumps (at low speeds) and normal driving don't jostle or throw the bikes around; they're secure. The best part is the hitch -- no tools necessary! A slotted sleeve inside the hitch is screwed forward with a lever in the back so that it wedges itself against the hitch pin. The rack is then rock solid and stays that way. To release, simply turn the lever counter-clockwise and the hitch pin can be unlocked and slid free. No ratchet wrench necessary! Makes getting it on and off a breeze. Also, I will acknowledge that it doesn't have a locking mechanism to secure the bikes, and I'm glad. I have a plastic-coated steel cable that I wrap through and around my bike frames, through the wheels, and around the rack, and it works well enough. Anyone who leaves their bikes unattended for very long, on ANY rack, is asking for trouble. Cables can be cut; the average locking mechanism takes about 60 seconds (or less) to jam or break. The idea here is to discourage the casual thief, not the determined (and prepared) professional. I don't believe that the additional cost of a simple locking system (as far as bike racks are concerned) is justified when I can simply weave a steel cable through the bikes, but that's just me. I do have one minor 'fault' to report, if you want to call it that. Although the platform will tilt away from the vehicle in order to allow access to the rear hatch/tailgate, on my Toyota Sienna I found that I could only make this work with one bike on the outer loops (or obviously, with NO bikes). With a bike on the inner side, there just wasn't enough clearance to open the back. But that's a minor quibble. I would definitely encourage anyone to compare this rack to others out there. It's by far the best bang for your buck.

Lo que mas me ha gustado es: la calidad de los materiales, su sólida construccion, el mecanisno que fija el rack al tirón y que a la vez evita ruidos molestos, el poco espacio que ocupa cuando está retraído.

this is my first bike rack. i don't have any issues at all and glad i chose it over other manufacturers. I can see that this bike rack will last a lifetime. I received HR1450Z model which i purchased early march and was shipped from amazon calgary facility.
