Works great (so far). Built a new PC and decided to leave out an older HDD and DVD/Blu-ray drive after buying and testing this device. I had a SATA to USB connector for SSDs but didn’t realize they make 12v powered versions. Since both devices not used all the time I didn’t need an enclosure. Tested both and happy with the performance.

Used this to plug a 15 year old laptop hard drive into my desktop computer to see if I had forgotten any files. At first I wasn't able to access the files, but a quick google taught me how to change the ownership of the hard drive to match it to the computer I was currently using. I did find quite a few old photos and files that I was glad I found. I should also mention that this works with the 2.5 drive that I have, but it does not work with a 3.5 drive from my old desktop. It seems that 3.5 drives need a different cable with a higher power supply. So if you’re having trouble with a drive, do some research on whether or not this cable is compatible.

One thing I should have guessed was that the AC adapter had a UK plug. I live in Sweden and consequently got a problem. This should have been informed about in the description. If this is omitted, the seller might have adapted the delivery to the country the package was sent to EU -> EU, UK -> UK etc. Had a suitable mains adapter lying around so it worked out great. Overall good quality and works great for my XBOX.
