Blue on Blue Review: Beautiful! - m a big fan of Krommes illustration style, I could spent house just enjoying the beauty of these illustrations. The story is also excellent. While deceptively simple, the words and illustrations combine to create a thoroughly enjoyable picture book experience. The whole premise is based on the arrival of a rain storm. The reader gets to see the storm blow in, leave its mark and then disappear. The whole thing feels like a real experience as the reader sees the reactions of the animals and people to the changing weather. Not only does this book provide beautiful illustrations but also read like poetry, which I loved. A true winner that would be perfect for sharing during a rain storm or in a classroom studying weather or seasons. Review: poetry on poetry - i have carefully collected illustrated books for a few decades and i must say this is one of the best purchases i've made. books aren't just a source of information, they are foremost a source of language and imagination. put a book into a child's hand that is rich in language and illustrations and you soon have a child in love with language and books. that's what happened to me some decades ago. this book is rich with sonics and rhythms, coaxing the reader to anticipate the next turned page. as a poet, i cannot praise this book high enough. and don't worry, if you think you don't like poetry, you will love this book because the poetry in it sneaks up on you.

The Loveliest Children’s Book
This is one of my favorite children’s books. The lovely simple storyline reads like a poem for young children coupled with gorgeous illustrations. I never tire reading this to my children and have gifted it also.

Great on great
Blue on Blue is a gorgeous book, with a lovely poetic rhythm. The words paint a wonderful picture in the reader's mind. And the illustrations are equally incredible! The text is simple, yet effective in captivating the imagination. As a parent, I love finding books that my kids pull off the shelves time and again. As a teacher, I love finding books with text so vivid that students see exactly what the author has crafted. I am excited by this book, and enthusiastically recommend it!

Delightful book for anyone!!!
I am a grandmother but have been collecting children's books for myself that have excellent illustrations, a moral or humorous story and I am delighted that I have added this book to my collection. I highly recommend this book, not just for those reasons but the children that I have shared this book want me to read it again and again. I love this book. You will not be disappointed if you purchase it.

I can almost smell it
This book is absolutely beautiful. The illustrations are immersive, complex, and artistic. The text is simple enough for a toddler to essentially memorize, but communicates a lot of information and emotion. You can practically smell the mud and the rain while reading!

You'll love it.
This book is so lovely in both text, concept and artwork. The text is spare, though, so read slowly if using for a bedtime read. Still, highly recommend.

I love this book. The illustrations are beautiful, there is a lot to look at on every page, and the words are simple but have a rhythm that make them really pleasant to read aloud. This is one of my go-to gifts for parents of babies/toddlers.
