Yes, rip. And long cuts. The blade that came with the saw could not make a straight cut 3 feet long much less longer, dulled very quickly and wandered horribly after 12 feet of ripping. That was a useless blade. Thankfully I bought this bigfoot blade along with the saw to have a spare. I've ripped 10 long pieces on both edges so far and with a good setup, its giving me glue ready joints with few exceptions. If it lasts longer I will update to 5 stars. And Just ordered another. That should tell you enough. Really want to try the diablo 40 tooth, but the thin blade sounds like it might also wander in my use. Inaccurate cuts are useless.
