This socket works great, it's durable and a great value compared to buying individual sockets.

If you're the socket wrench type and have a hard-to-remove bolt, just go for a set of bolt extractors instead even though they're more expensive. I tried to cheap out and use this on a bolt that wouldn't even budge with an impact driver, and it immediately rounded the corners. Luckily, bolt extractors won't care much about that part. I'm sure this is a great-quality item for household applications that are low-stress, but this is not a winner-takes-all innovation. Works well as described, but not well enough to hack an experienced frugal person out of a pinch.

This works ok, but it has some limits making it not really universal. It is very handy if you just need to tighten something and you want one tool, say, in the kitchen that you can grab quickly, instead of digging through the toolbox. However, for practical use, it has several issues: (1) the pins do not create EVERY size perfectly, and I did have slippage on several bolts when I tried to really tighten them. Others gripped brilliantly. (2) the thing is like an inch wide in order to accommodate small through large sizes... but this means a smaller bolt in a tight space is inaccessible. I had to tighten a smaller bolt on my kitchen stool, and I couldn't get this thing in there because of the bulk. (3) it isn't nearly as deep as it looks, making it not very useful for holding nuts, for instance, if a bolt protrudes out of the middle more than a small amount.
