If you have a Leatherman Wave+, you need this case.
This case is so much better than the one that came with my Leatherman Wave+, it's insane. The craftsmanship is excellent. The leather is about twice as thick. My chief complaint about the one that came with my Wave+ is that the belt loop is huge and very loose, causing it to flop around on my belt. That prompted me to seek a better option. There are a bunch of choices out there. Some are built like a pancake holster. They look nice, but they're awfully expensive. More than I paid for the Leatherman. The American Benchcraft case is a lot less expensive than those (close to 1/3 the price) but still exceptionally sturdy, and it also looks pretty decent. And the belt loop design is great. It'll stay tight on the belt and won't be all floppy. It fits my Wave+ like a glove. Some other commentor said their button didn't stay closed. Mine seems to have no such problem. I couldn't be happier with my purchase. It looks like they also make some nice belts, too. I included some pictures of the case, as well as the one that came with the Leatherman for comparison.

Good Well Made, Quality Sheath
I am wearing this on my belt right now. It fits my Leatherman Wave perfectly. Seems to be a real quality, rugged, product made out of good sturdy leather. I expect it to last a long time. One other review said you might have trouble getting your belt through the loop on the back and I did. The leather is tight when brand new but after you work your belt through the slot once and wear it for a day it stretches and is perfect. Good product.

Well made. Fits my Leatherman Wave.
Very well made all leather belt sheath for my Leatherman Wave. I had a Leatherman brand leather sheath but it was made of much thinner leather and wore out. Found this and thought Iโd give it a try. After using it a couple of months Iโm not disappointed. This is made of thick leather which will wear and conform to whatever I put in it. It is a tight fit, but thatโs what you need with new leather. Iโve read reviews saying the sheath is hard to put on a belt. This is due to the way the sheath is constructed. This is easily overcome by inserting a finger into the loop, holding the ends of the sheath towards the back, keeping them out of the way of your belt while you push it through the loop. It should get easier the more itโs used. If you want a custom fit for your knife or tool, place the tool or knife in a sandwich bag, squeeze the air out. Then soak your leather sheath in warm water for ten minutes or more. Place the tool of knife (inside the sandwich bag) into the now wet sheath. Leave it in the sheath for 24 hours and when the sheath dries it will be custom fitted to your knife.

Best Leatherman belt sheath I've ever used.
I've had a Leatherman Wave for 25+ years. Almost 15 tears ago the stitching on the belt loop of the sheath let go, a leather repair shop fixed it, but then the stiching ripped out the leather itself. For a couple of years, I was trying all sorts of different sheaths, then finally found this. It took a few weeks to break it in, but it is the best sheath I've ever found. The one-piece construction, the stitching, even the snap are all top quality. My only regret is that I didn't find this years ago. Been using this since Aug 2024.

Very well made, fits my Wave Plus perfectly
I recently purchased a black Wave Plus as I have been so happy with my very well used old Wave over the years and wanted to try this newer design. My Wave had a case from the time Leatherman still made a decent leather case, also very well used but holding together nicely. I also wanted a leather case for my new Wave Plus so bought this ABC case. It is excellent. Thick leather, beautifully finished. Unlike at least one other review, it fits my Wave Plus (and Wave) perfectly with no large gap at top. The snap holds well on closing and has a nice smooth finish. The only snag I have is it is hard to get my leather belt thru it. I realize part of that is the tightness that will go away with use. However what will not go away is the fact that the case wall behind the Wave is split (by design). If I try to put the belt thru the end of it catches on the case split. It also catches when removing the case from the belt as my belt has a slight raised area. An easy work around is to remove the Wave, stick my finger in there and guide the belt past the end of the belt. Hopefully this will become less of a factor as the case expands from use but is from my view a flaw in an otherwise perfect case. Still giving it five stars as it is otherwise so great.

Sturdy construction, but a bit loose for containing a Leatherman Wave IMO.
It certainly looks like it will hold up, but it isn't without some concerns. I purchased this because I saw it was made for the Leatherman Wave, which I own. I've had two other types of holders in the past, and I've had issues with both--the clasp or hook/loop closure wears out, or the materials stretch and the gap at the top gets large/loose enough that the multitool falls out when I am sitting in a car seat. 1) The initial picture here makes it seem like there is only a small gap where the leather folds over, but it's 1-1.5" inches. While initially the tool doesn't feel like it's going to fall out, I'm afraid that with wear and use, the leather will soften and I'll have the same issues I've had with others. I would have liked this to have been a tighter "seal" at the top so that there wasn't as much gap there. I may have a leatherworking friend add another female snap lower to tighten that gap. . 2) The snap feels nice and sturdy, but even sitting in an office chair, it easily pops open from brushing against the arm of the chair. Perhaps having a "tail" beneath the snap that tucked into a leather band would help? . 3) It's "one piece" construction leads to an interesting issue where the belt loop covers where the two edges of leather make the back of the holder. Initially, this is very tight to try to work a belt through, and there is a gap in the leather on the inside that hopefully holds up with use. I understand that this is part of the one-piece design, and with time it will loosen and work out, but it's just something that was a bit troublesome at the beginning. For now, the thickness of the leather and its construction are quite sturdy. There's no stitching to worry about as it is riveted together, and minimally so.

Gonna last a long time
This is a very sturdy case. When it came, my Leatherman was very snug and it was hard to get a belt through the belt loop. I then did what a previous reviewer suggested, I soaked the case in warm water for 10 minutes, then put my Leatherman in a plastic bag and into the case for 24 hrs and let it dry. I also inserted 2 butter knives into the belt loop. Once it was dry I gave it a light coating of Neatsfoot oil, and now a perfect fit. Buy it, you won't regret it.
