I was so happy to have found a U.S. made product for improving my meditation experience and I’m very happy with this zabuton. (My zafu is on the way!) I was a bit worried by some of the negative reviews here but I can’t relate to the issues mentioned. Mine came dry, clean, free of any odor, and indeed the right size for the sleeve.As for the details, the first thing I noticed was the weight and sturdiness of the mat. It feels heavy and solid in ways that I didn’t expect, so hopefully it’ll hold up over time.I also had a look inside at the cotton. It’s quite interesting as I’ve never seen cotton quite so… rustic before. Makes me feel a bit more “down to earth” when I sit on it, man.As for the size, I purchased the large size and I’m 6’3 and I’m happy to say that it feels just about right. When I sit in a Burmese posture my knees hang over the side just about an inch on each side, so it’s definitely a “snug” fit, but they’re definitely a few inches off the floor and so the mat is definitely effective.It’s also very comfy and my foot didn’t fall asleep in the Burmese posture either, which was the main reason I wanted a zabuton, so that’s excellent news!The only thing I envision having to worry about is my dogs trying to steal it in case I forget to put it away…

Great zabuton! Makes meditation easier on my knees, used with a bench or a zafu cushion. Also nice for those days I want to sit on the floor but need a bit of cushion.Additional note: Unable to use now, as once I removed my zafu cushion from the zabuton to clean it, my cat claimed it as his favorite place to sleep. Immediately, the fabric became tabby colored fur-coated, and washing the cover didn't quite remove the fur. Guess I'll have to get another for me to use!

This cushion is well made. it's very comfortable. the cover comes off easily for washing. I think it's a great product, and recommend it highly.I do have one caveat for taller people considering this cushion -- make sure to sit as you usually do and figure out if this 24" cushion is wide enough to work for you. I am 6' tall, and didn't think to measure how much room I take up when I am sitting before ordering. I sit in Burmese, and I would have done better getting a zabuton that is rectangular rather than square. As it is, my knees are barely able to fit onto the cushion in Burmese. So if I had this to do over again, I would have gotten the Hugger Mugger Zabuton that's a rectangular shape, so I'd not have to worry about it. As it is, I'll use it as incentive to work my way into sitting in half-lotus more often, and again, this issue is no knock on the zabuton itself, which is great.

Very small and thin..more like a mat

Sturdy and comfortable. Dense enough that I do not bounce around or sink in or lose balance on the cushion. Together with my small meditation pillow placed on top, this is a perfect meditation floor cushion for long hours of meditation. I am only 5' 1" in height, but I chose the large size because I meditate with my legs crossed the Burmese style. My knees do not hang over the cushion's edge but lay comfortably on the floor cushion.

It's like a thin piece of foam. It's so flat I could feel the ground under it. This is NOT a 'meditation' cushion. Nor is it a 'cushion'. It feels like sitting on a blanket over the ground. In the pictures it does look a lot thicker and cushioned. It isn't . It's thin. Even a dog cushion is thicker. Garbage and have sent it back.
