This item works great as designed and feels like a solid connection that won't just come apart. The installation is "easy" unless you are not good with or afraid to drill into your guitar and how to mount it. My guitar had a peg hole for plastic inserted button which was too big to use so I had to drill new one close to the hole to keep it as balanced as possible. So that was a little tricky. And finding the right spot on the neck base was a little more challenging because the base does not have any flat area. This made drilling a starter hole for the screw at proper angle was tricky and not having the drill dance across the surface - indent from awl or smallish nail is necessary. But I am pleased with it. Better than having to tie the strap to the top of neck.

My main thought on these is that it is a great product if you have many guitars, but one or two straps that you usually use, or you travel with your guitar regularly and it doesn't fit in the case with the strap. The screw that holds these in is quite a bit larger than the one it replaced. The button that mounts to the strap holds on very very tightly, and I have no doubt that it will never come off the strap unless I take it off. It clicks pretty securely into the mount on the guitar, with a little bit of wriggle. Press the button, it comes right out. My only complaint is that it looks pretty goofy with the strap mounted. See pics. It pushes the strap out like an inch. Overall, I am pleased with it. However, the way I only casually play, I would have been fine sticking with regular strap mounts.

Been using these since the 80's, never dropped a guitar, and they've helped keep a couple on when I've caught them on mic stands, amp corners, random boxes, other people, and a number of other things. These things work.

Decent keytars are just as expensive as high-end guitars so it's certainly a must to make sure your precious instrument, whatever it may be, doesn't go flying off when things get active on-stage. I play a Korg RK-100S keytar and it has a wooden body much like a regular guitar or bass so essentially the installation was as easy as could be and the overall security offers extreme peace of mind... Once I had the strap pegs fastened and the locks tightened into place the final solid 'snap' of securing the strap locks together made me feel better instantaneously. No matter what happens I know my beautiful instrument isn't going anywhere until the time comes to take it off and put it back in its case. And that, my friends, is a wonderful feeling. So go ahead and order yourself these fine strap locks - with 800lbs of tested weight limit, you know your instrument will be safe. 'Cause remember, as a musician your instrument is an extension of yourself, so take the extra few dollars and ready-up for whatever comes your way. Nothing is more heartbreaking than seeing your prized instrument fall to the ground...

I use these locks on every guitar I own and have been using them for 20+ years. They have never failed me. Whenever I buy a new guitar these locks are the second item in my cart. 2 things that are super nice about these, 1. You can use one starp with locks on them with any guitar and 2. If you have a strap without locks you can still use the strap as the shape of the locking pegs is almost Identical to regular strap pins

It took me a few minutes to figure out how to lock these in place as they are a little different from what I was used to as they use a washer clip to lock in place and can be a little bit of a pain to get off if you wanted to put these on another guitar, but once they are in place you are golden from there with no worries about straps popping off. Highly recommended!

Have owned many sets of these. I have them on all of my instruments. I won't have a guitar without em.

I don’t often leave reviews and this product far exceeded my expectations. My guitar had previously almost fallen twice before I researched and found out about this option. I was a little leery drilling into my seagull with a 7/64 bit but I took my time and marked the bit with a section of tape at 7/8” and took my time to remain straight. With the bar soap lubricant the thread pitch/diameter match was dead on. I had a little difficulty squeezing my thick leather/deformed strap enough to install the e clip but eventually got it. The other side is a quick detach elastic cord loop from d’addario which I have been using forever and it managed to secure that as well. It is amazing how much better I feel when I pick it up and play without having to worry about the strap coming loose. I didn’t realize how much it was bothering me and my guitar isn’t that materially expensive. If my kids start playing the Yamaha 3/4 JR1 I bought them more I will get a set for theirs as well!!
