Tried so many styrofoam cutter & they have all been useless. No quick heat, flimsy cutting wire. no on/off trigger. This one has it ALL. Changeable heating rods, trigger operation & fast heat. This plastic/foam cutter works fantastic! Its fast to heat up, easy to use, and looks like its made out of super high quality materials. Very durable.

It takes a little practice to get used to melting your cut lines, but once you get the hang of it, it cuts like a hot knife through butter.

I bought this so that I could get rid of all the styrofoam collected in packaging over the year. I didn't realize how much of a PITA getting rid of styrofoam packaging or shipping coolers was until I tried to cut them down with a razor knife... what a mess! After reading the reviews on the wire heating cutters, I decided those wouldn't last long (I had a LOT of this stuff to get rid of.). So I bought this because I could, and I like gadgets and tools. This DID NOT DISAPPOINT! First, make sure you use it in a well-ventilated area, as most foam products emit noxious/toxic vapors, so ventilation is a must. Keep positive control of this tool, and be careful where you set it down while using it. It becomes red-hot, and it will do some serious damage to the flesh (but it will also cauterize the wound so you probably won't bleed to death if you do something stupid.) It really does work well, I found myself playing with it as I was cutting down the big foam blocks, experimenting with it; getting creative, and carving alphabet letters and animal silhouettes out of the styrofoam, so I spent two days cutting all of my styrofoam down into little cubes that I can use for packing and shipping, and for use in potting plants in the big containers. It allows me to repurpose the foam instead of just sending it to the dump. Love the tool, it works, and I can pull it out and use it quickly when I have more foam to cut down. No styrofoam beads sticking to everything or to you with this thing.

Absolute game changer!! Works like a charm. Perfect for making backdrops or theater sets with foam. Slices thru foam with ease.

Came damaged, broken case. It works okay, has 2 blades, they both get hot. It is kinda cheap but I expected that. A little disappointed it came damaged and the case is broken but glad it still works.

Don't bother with this one. Handle is huge and very difficult to hold. But hold you must as there is no latch or way to keep the heat on. Takes about 30 seconds or so to heat up so your hand is already feeling fatigue. Then you really have to power through with the super flimsy blades. Instructions were inferior. Let's just say they could have used a native English speaker to write them or at least proofread them. Price not justified. Case is very impressive though. Too bad you can't reuse it for something actually worth caring for.

Very simple and intuitive to use, just install the blade and you are good to go. This tool cuts through 2 inch thick rigid foam VERY quickly, most likely because it does get very hot immediately. Make sure you have a place to set it down between cuts because this thing is ready in seconds, since it does get so hot I would recommend that you use leather gloves because the potential to burn your digits is quite obvious once you pull the trigger on this device. I use gloves because I am old and fumbly. The reason I bought this device is because I need it to cut insulation panels to fit precisely on my RV motorhome, I am in southern British Columbia a couple of miles from the 49th parallel. I don't care what anybody says, when you live North of the 49th, you are gonna need some skirting and insulation up here in the Great White North and THIS IS the tool to get the job done. It allows you to quickly make nice clean cuts through rigid insulation panels quickly and, it does not look like a 2 year old did it when you are done. I personally have not had a problem with residue being left on the blade, although the tool comes with 2 blades and cleaning brush and instructions on how to use this specialty tool. It has already met and exceeded my expectations and it appears to me this item will last for many years to come.

returned 5 minutes after receipt. the product is sold in Dubai where the current is 240V AC while on the product it is indicated that it works at 110V AC. This info does not appear anywhere in the specifications.

Incompatible with Australian electrical supply voltage.

This product broke down within 5 minutes of its first use. Very dissappointed.
