Fantastic inspiration!
This is a fantastic book! First, the designs and creations throghout the book are beautiful and full of details. The instructions are accurate and easy to follow. And finally, and most important to me personally, Jeff’s builds were just the kick in the pants I needed to start building with my own collection again. If you’re an adult fan of Lego, this book is worth owning for the aesthetics of his builds alone, but as I said, they’re also terrific pieces of inspiration. If you’re the parent of a lego fan, this book might well help extend that wonderfully creative time in your child’s life just a bit longer by giving them an example of the creations they can conjure up with more practice and time.

Very impressive!
With all these Lego books out here, this happens to be one of the best ones. Lots of great ideas and it even gives you clear instructions on how to build them. Most of these other Lego books show pictures yet, no instructions. If you are looking for ideas to create things with Lego, this book is a must have.

parts lists aren't great
This book is fantastic, with beautiful photos and amazing builds. What's a real hassle, though, is how poorly the parts lists are constructed. For each build, three primary structures have specific instructions. Each of those structures has a parts list at the beginning of the instructions, but the amounts are not always accurate. This by itself is frustrating, but what's really a hassle is that parts lists with amounts are not provided for the specific base or other structures featured in the builds. Some of the details are available at the end of the book, but compiling a comprehensive parts list for a build is not a simple task. I'm hoping to give this book as a gift, along with all that's needed for one of the builds. It would be so much easier if a full list and full instructions were provided for each build as they appear. Suggestions for variations are great, but surely I'm not alone in wanting to be able to build what I see in the picture, and unfortunately that is less straightforward than it seems.

Great book for avid Lego fans.
Great photos & clear instructions for suggested Lego builds make this book well worth the cost. If you are a fan of Legos, this is a great book to have in your library.

Really cool lego book
This book is very well done. The instructions are great. Really creative city to build. The one thing i wish it did better was a complete list of pieces needed. it does do list but for each building not the whole city.Great book for kids and adults.

Christmas present for husband-definitely a winner!
I got this book for my husband as a Christmas present. The book is amazing! The paper is nice and thick, coffee table book quality. The images are beautiful and the descriptions of the cities, the lore of how each city grew, and how to personalize the original designs make this book a fun read for someone who doesn't use Legos on the regular (that would be me). The book even gives great advice on how to aquire the necessary pieces to make your microcities!

If you want to build a micro city, buy this book
So, if you're looking to build a Lego micro city, this is your book. The instructions are straightforward, easy to follow. On the other hand it's very dry and matter of fact. Basically, an older child or adult would appreciate this.
