Great item works as intended

Really well made brooder with design features that put it well ahead of other brooders or traditional heat lamps. Adjustable height means it works for the smallest birds right up to big fat goslings. Energy efficient which focuses heat only where it is needed, avoiding wastage and unnecessarily creating dust or fire hazard through heating a broader area.

A little disappointed. Arrived but didn t get very worm so had to return. Was replaced immediately and the new one works fine.

A bit fiddly to get the legs levels, but keeps the chicks warm. Does what it says in description.

The picture shows an easy clean plastic cover.... this was not included in the box. Item returned.

I have an earlier version Brinsea chick brooder which is a solid performer. I needed another so headed straight for another Brinsea. The design has changed a bit in as much as this one has independently adjustable legs. I find this a great feature as you can jack up the height a bit on one end so that the chicks kind pick their own sweet spot. Another of the additional benefits is being able to individually adjust the legs according to the surface they sit on. For example if you use a plastic storage box for your brooder, in many cases the "Feet" of the box have been pushed down from the moulded plastic and this leaves a recess in each corner, with this brooder you can simply wind that leg down a little more until it touches the base to make it stable. In my opinion you can't go wrong with these.

This product arrived promptly and in good order.I used it to keep 6 chicks warm that I had hatched out in my incubator when their mom decided to get off the nest early.It worked a treat and the chicks grew well and soon joined the rest of the flock when they were big enough.

Expensive and poor working design. I’m a big fan of Brinsea but I suspect this was not designed by people who raise chicks. It does it’s job but then would a reptile heat pad. The heating element is a simple metal plate which will become too hot to touch. A reptile heat pad is a third of the price and allows a thermostat to be attached. Turning the corner screws will raise or lower the hood. Simple enough but get the height wrong and you burn your chicks’ head plus chicks will spend too much time under it squatting and not using their legs to stand. If you set it too low for too long, expect chicks with splayed legs lacking posture and strength. I will be going back to an infra red lamp.

Lo primero de todo, es destacar que el producto viene solamente con enchufe de tipo inglés. Aunque en las instrucciones puede parecer que la caja viene con adaptador inglés y europeo, la realidad es que solo viene con el inglés; tramité con Amazon un cambio por este motivo, pero la nueva caja llegó igual, solo con enchufe inglés. Así pues, tened en cuenta que para utilizar este aparato necesitaréis un adaptador para el enchufe, razón por la cual, le pongo solo dos estrellas. El producto en sí funciona muy bien, bajo mi punto de vista mejora y mucho a las bombillas de infrarrojos porque tiene un consumo mucho más bajo, tan solo 12 W. Por otro lado, se asemeja más a las condiciones naturales, respetando los ciclos de día y noche. La altura es ajustable al tamaño de los pollitos y emite un calor constante en su base de unos 37º sin hacer nada de ruido. Lo he utilizado ya con 2 puestas y los resultados son muy satisfactorios, los pollitos aprenden rapidísimamente y por si solos que debajo del aparato está calentito, y se muestran cómodos y seguros debajo de él. No pían y están confiados, saliendo y entrando cuando quieren, aunque pasan la mayor parte de tiempo debajo de la placa. Sería un producto de 10 si no fuese porque no dicen nada de que solo viene con enchufe inglés.
