Based on the powerful mythology of the Norse, this 81-card divination deck brings the wisdom of the ancients into your life. Intricate pen and ink drawings are soulful representations of the Eddas, the stunning written accounts of the legends of old. These cards, along with the informative guidebook, are designed to be used for divination, guidance, and spiritual connection. Created by a renowned artist and long-time participant of the heathen revival, this kit is a welcome addition to those who desire to work more deeply with the Nordic pantheon. Boxed kit includes an 81-card deck and 216-page guidebook. Review: I just love these cards - First, I like the size of the cards and I love the guide book. I really resonate with the artwork, it's beautiful. With this said, let's go to the second point. I researched a long time for Norse divination cards. Of course I have Runes, but with learning 24 symbols by heart, it is hard to learn about the Norse mythology. Also of course, I read the "Eddas" and Tacitus "Germania", but these cards are the next step to dive into the Norse mythology. There is a lot of background knowledge in the guide book, and actually written in a modern English, which is easier to understand. The last point I'd like to stress is: I'm born and raised in Switzerland. The center of Europe, and Europe is where all this Lore is coming from. In high school, we was taught about the Roman Empire, Greek mythology and the rest was WW1 and WW2. Born and raised next to Germany and speaking a language inherited from a German tribe, I was disappointed not to learn about Norse mythology. Since my youth I try to learn about the Vikings and their lifestyle. I watched all the movies and documentaries I could find on the topic, and it all just led me to want to go deeper. So I started to search for divination means. I saw a few other decks with the theme of Norse mythology, but it didn't take me long to find out that the available decks were created by 1) a person with an Italian name and 2) a person with roots connected to Native Americans. Nothing against their researching skills, I just didn't feel comfortable with that. I was really excited to finally find a deck created by a father and his daughter who are Icelandic and practitioners of Asatru. That and the fact that this deck has 81 cards makes it the perfect deck for me. I'm very pleased with this set and I recommend it to everyone who's interested in authentic Norse mythology and utilization as a divination tool. I thank Haukur and his daughter for creating such a masterpiece with all of my heart. Review: Profound Insight - When I got these cards, I thought they would be similar to Tarot. As a practicing Àsatrùar, I was curious to see if there was any Norse equivalent to Tarot aside from Runes, and this set is life-changing. The life’s worth of knowledge and insight from the authors is in this set, and because of how complex it is, when you factor in the world position, the world the deity is from, how the worlds interact, then how the deity factors in, as well as any special pairings within the deities and worlds, I found myself writing about one of my first spreads for hours, uncovering insights as I pieced things together. It certainly doesn’t do what I call the horoscope technique where things are kept vague, and the value of this cannot be understated. The cards give decisive answers, even if you don’t always like what that is, and I’ve come face to face with some uncomfortable truths about myself and my life because of these cards. If you want advice on how to best understand the cards, this is what I do, using some examples: Card: Thor from Jotunheim Position: Muspelheim My interpretation of Jotunheim in Muspelheim: My interpretation of Thor: My interpretation of Thor alongside Odin: These things would be the kinds of variables there are, and they are certainly worth noting. Also, there’s room to explore with this deck and create your own spreads. It is so fun and so informative. I cannot recommend it enough.

Profound Insight

Good from the outside at least (will update)
I've been itching to get this oracle decks! So happy to finally receive it. Pros: 1) really nice packaging with magnetic flap 2) guide book paper quality is standard, nothing to write home about 3) no duplicates 4) art is a matter of taste, but as for me it's pleasant to look at: a. images aren't sharply painful to the eye, unlike those photo-based tarot decks b. has a pencil sketch style art, that's consistent throughout the deck c. English letters are stylized to resemble runes 5) The quality of writings is decent: there's simple language, but it's just enough. Cons: 1) for some cards you have brief descriptions of 10 sentences or so, which might be not enough neither for a beginner nor an experienced person 2) there are few resources or online guides for this special deck 3) Relatively little is written about each god; it ranges from a page to half of that. I've managed to extract general meanings, but I would highly recommend to use a book about Norse Gods, e.g. A Modern Guide to Heathenry by Krasskova (or something more to your liking). To find out later: 2) how applicable the guides are to my divination attempts 3) usability of the Yggdrasil spread in the book 4) how goes single card divination with this deck 5) usability of other resources in relation to this deck

Obsessed
I only have had the cards for a few hours but I am already highly impressed. There is just something about the overall vibes that lets you know that this is a work of love and deep insight. The artwork is stunning. The box, book and packaging are great. The amount of cards (81) is probably the most of any Oracle deck I’ve ever encountered and the amount of research done to present so many Norse mythology characters must have been very thorough. I had two instant synchronicities as soon as I started picking cards, and I was immediately floored. I was drawn to these cards since I first saw them for pre-order and I am very excited to work with them.

AMAZING Oracle Cards
I loved these so much, I ordered an extra deck. Downside, paper stock a little thin Good side: easy shuffle, keywords on cards, and images are of old mythology print. the guidebook goes into great detail on how to pull cards and what the 9 worlds mean and explains how to pull the cards

BEST DIVINATION CARDS I EVER USED
beautiful artwork and very well done book to along with it - a lot of interesting viking lore and i like having 81 cards in the deck with more options for divination, actually i find the perfect number of cards - they are a bit slick/slippery and can be a problem keeping them stacked as they just slide off each other, also the cards are a bit thin so need to be handled carefully to keep from bending or damaging them, but probably need to be thin due to the extra number of cards in the deck - come in a nice box with magnet closure - very pleased with them and even with the minor negatives i mentioned will still give 5 stars

So close yet so far. Very disappointed
I was so excited about this deck, but when it arrived and I dove into its guidebook and deck of cards I grew more and more puzzled and confused. Initially I was second guessing myself, as a beginner myself in the practice of norse paganism I’m by no means an expert on the original myths. But so much of this deck was out of my understanding and was not present in the resources I’ve gathered on norse mythology. I as an artist also am sad to say this, but I really hate the art. It’s difficult to see the details in the images (which is important for divination cards) and they didn’t seem to be from the same “story” or pantheon. Even within each “realm” as the guide categorizes the suits Don’t appear to be illustrated in the same manner. The guide book should have a better explanation for many of these cards and I can’t figure out how to make sense of most of them in specific placements of my spreads. I’m also very peeved about the blurbs of each card at the bottoms. I don’t think they suit the characters of the cards well. This is a very unique and interesting idea of a divination deck, it has great potential, but it doesn’t seem to be a complete project or idea. With norse mythology it’s also difficult because there is such little primary source and vast individualistic understanding of the mythos. Everyone interprets the myths differently and personally. That’s why, this deck isn’t working for me. It feels like I’m working with a deck of cards made for one person that believes this story that they pieced together for themselves. It doesn’t feel natural to me as an experienced divination reader. Also the reviews mentioning that norse pagans don’t use cards in their divination. Historically this is true, but I don’t think it is necessary to mention in the review itself on this deck. It has no effect on the concept or outcome. If you are looking to merge your tarot and norse mythology together I don’t recommend this deck. No matter you experience as a beginner or not it seems we will have to wait to find one that is better suited for such aspirations.

Beautiful artwork
The artwork in this is very beautiful and tends to be minimalist. I was wondering about the origins (textual) of the information for the reading of the cards and the placement of some of the characters. Norse mythology is a vast body of hitherto yet to be discovered body of beliefs and literature in the western world and deserves its own attention.

Oracle superbe

Good for Nordic mythology lovers
I am happy that there is a lot of mythology in the book. Exactly what I was looking for my collection. Good reading for reflection about life. Beautiful deck.

Danke!
