It's a nice little machine that works well
Purchased this as a Christmas present. The recipients loved it and says they really like the size and portability plus the sound quality. It impressed a family visitor enough that she now wants one too and asked me about it! Price is also great and is apparently easy to use (if you are already familiar with record players anyway).

Great stereo!!!
This stereo is excellent for the price. Good powerful speakers. Great sound. Easy to set up once you get the hang of how to fix the weight to the arm which isn’t that difficult really. It’s lovely to listen to LPs that I haven’t listened to for probably 40 years or more. Would definitely recommend!! 👍👍👍

Grab some nostalgia right here!
I love this portable turntable, I forgot how much fun it is to play a vinyl records. The sound quality is just Soooo different, the sound it makes when you lift up the arm and place it on the record, the way it crackles and pops on the record from the small dust particles, but the music is just so lovely when listening to it through a record player, it makes you feel “alive” and for me brings back some good old memories :) The Portable unit came in a faux baby blue leather case with chrome accent features which gave it a look from the 80’s. I was born in the very late 1970 (cough) and my entire family listened to vinyl records so I was Very excited to see how well they have come along in sound and designed. To be honest nothing has really changed. Back in the good old days the vinyl record players would be on top of your hi-fi system which had two big old speakers plugged into the back of the hifi. With this one you have two small front facing speakers built into the briefcase, so all you need to do is plug it in then into a wall socket, put on your favorite record and you’re instantly listening to music, The way it should be played :) My Pro's * This has 3 speed setting 33/45/78 * Balanced tone arm * Front-facing built-in stereo speakers * RCA output * Headphone out jack so you can plug your headphones in late at night to chill & relax :) * Lightweight & Portable * Unique Retro Style Design * Great sound * No jumping at all * Easy to store away * Also has built in Bluetooth MP3 / Mobile Phones Music Playback * Also this turntable comes with a 12-month guarantee The Negs * There isn't any as yet but will update if any arise * One thing I will add is any chance of a pink case :) Overall The color is vibrant. The product came very quickly and arrived unharmed. It plays my vinyls Perfectly and the Bluetooth is a welcome perk. The speakers are plenty loud enough, and the quality is A+ Soooooo PLEASED !!

Great sound, good value
Love my new sound system. Great value for money. Wires on speakers are a little short, but speaker wire is cheap and easy to replace. Very happy.

At this price level a good record player with plenty of features
The case is solidly built, and the blue case announces itself as a "1 by one" product. There are 4 small feet. The unit has a good open/close clasp and carrying handle, and is easily portable (remember to bring the mains adaptor with you). The turntable (7.75 inch diameter) and arm are slightly sprung, but are plasticky. The arm has a damped cueing lever, which is unusual to the point of uniqueness in this sort of low cost player; the arm is a bit wobbly on the way up and down (no bias adjustment), but it is vertically damped. The ceramic cartridge tracks at 7.6g on my stylus scales. Discs play satisfactorily, and the controls are straightforward. Even slight warps can cause the stylus to jump, but this is not normally a problem. There is no significant rumble. There was some flutter initially, particularly at 45rpm, but this has reduced with use to become almost imperceptible now. The ceramic cartridge played through the internal speakers produces an adequate sound, but understandably not hifi. The sound improves greatly on headphones or external equipment, with reasonable bass coming through on organ music, timpani and the like. The unit has wireless (Bluetooth) input; there is also a 3.5mm line input. Playing music from my phone wirelessly through the unit's onboard speakers produces a really quite good sound with plenty of presence and some bass. The wireless function is only for input, not for wireless output to an external speaker etc. Pressing the Bluetooth button (peculiarly labelled "phono ") cuts the power to the turntable motor. All in all at this price level it's a pleasing, portable, well built product with good features.

Very good record player
honestly great record player, and the speakers are so good!! only downside is that it’s a bit tricky to set up, but once it’s up and running it’s very smooth and sleek to use

update - Just as good as a lower end Teac, Lenco & Audio Technica
***Update*** 20/3/2019 Had the turntable now for a month or so. In the end attached my old Cambridge Audio separate to it and sounds fine. There is only one issue which I think one of the other reviewers touched on. That is the auto switch off feature. Its not a stand by. This happens after a 5 mins when the turntable has not been used. You have to manual switch turntable back on. In the grand scheme of things its not major. I have experienced the 30 sec stand by feature which is plain odd. For these two things I have knocked a star off. Im the end for the price its still good. So looking at a new turntable to replace the old 1 by One. I had no intention to buy another 1 by One, not because it was a poor choice. Just wanted one an upgrade as it was a cheap purchase option at the time. So looking for an upgrade with a magnetic cartridge, at a reasonable value. Checked out Lenco's, Teac, AudioTechnic and others. Values range from £70 to £250. All had mixed reviews, a minefield. Then I found 1 by One now did a turntable with Audio Technic stylus / arm plus you got two speakers chucked in for £159.00. So I took a punt. So whats the outcome: It came well packaged. All aspects of the turntable well protected but this does mean you have to set up the Counter Weight, Anti-Skid function and belt for the drive. The construction of the turntable all felt very nice not a cheap feel. Even the lid has some weight to it and a heavy metal platter. The instructions are good perhaps not idiot proof. The one issue was the anti-skid weight which is very fiddly in the end it took two of use to tighten the knot up. Oh and you have to move the arm from its cup for it to work (Not idiot proof instructions). So all set. Its not automatic drive, you press a play button. It also has a lovely slow descending stylus action onto the vinyl after the lever is released. At the moment I have it aux into a GPO speaker until a new unit arrives to place speakers on (The GPO has bass / treble controls). When I connect the speakers up the pre-amp built into the turntable will power them. There is no way to control treble or bass EQ etc. Having said all that the GPO is adequate with nice bass and treble but if you push the GPO it distorts. Which I already knew and has nothing to do with the turntable. So the Sound you certainly can tell the difference with Audio Technic Stylus. Even through the GPO its a vast improvement from the previous 1 by One wooden plinth turntable in sound, build and quality. So is it worth the price and any good? Well I got it for £159. Im no Audiophile but I like a good sound. I am also a musician. This a good turntable. Perhaps 1 by One has gone to all the manufacturers of named turntables given them a shopping list. In essence a parts turntable. If Lenco, Teac or Audiophile was stamped on the lid, this would have hi-fi reviews rated from 4 to 5 stars in its price band. Of course they would probably knock it down as it has a bluetooth function which is no no in Audiophile world. Its good, for the price band excellent. Improvement? I suggest 1 by One do go and find a Hi-Fi amp manfacture and design a simple mini amp with bass / treble / balance surrounded by a wood casing. Sell it as a package. For the buyer: remember you have to set it up. You may need an amp to push the sound when the speakers are connected (If possible cannot see why not it has phono output), as your currently relying on the pre-amp built into the turntable. Plus points: it has a choice of aux or speaker output, industry standard magnetic stylus, bluetooth, transfer vinyl, well constructed, looks good. You can change from 33 to 44 without changing belt position.
