I thought I was purchasing a novelty item for parties or when friends where over. What I found was a great looking way to quickly cool my bourbon without watering it down. First of all they are very simple to use. Just fill up the bottom tray to the line and then press in the top tray. It forces the water into the ball shape and holds it there while freezing. Once frozen the balls pop out into your glass. One note: anything under about a 9 oz rocks class will too small. I also found that can't drop them into a thin glass as they are very heavy and broke the glass.But in my larger old fashion heavy glass with 3 fingers of bourbon they look great. Also because of the surface area of each sphere they cool the bourbon quickly without watering down the drink. They appear to be made of a quality flexible rubber that will last a long time. Highly recommend.

These balls are great. Sadly they are a little fiddly to make in the mould as water can spill over, but once you learn how to do it they are very useful. Great for whiskey as stated.

I use this for anything and everything now and I must say that it keeps every WAY colder than the ice I buy. I now keep a bucket in my freezer and constantly keep it fill when I have a moment or even look inside the freezer. Now when people come over they throughly enjoy how cold their drinks are with these ice spheres. When it comes to making them, having them have a perfect sphere like in the photo, you need to double-boil the water first and execute the fill PERFECTLY. It's incredibly hard to do it and I really don't have time for it. But even with a little jagged saturn ring, no one seems to care since the effort of just having the sphere is more than enough.

Works pretty good. If you don't have a completely flat surface in your freezer the balls will not form perfectly. it's definitely worth the money to have and pretty cool to impress your friends when you share a glass of whiskey or bourbon.

This was one of the most disappointing purchases I have made on Amazon. From the start I was not happy, filling the tray and then putting the top/bottom together results in a lot of spilling that I have not had with other ice ball makers. Then there are the balls themselves, which after freeze come out with some sort of white flaky residue on them even when I use filtered water. I have never had this issue with anything else that I have ever made ice in, and it is certainly not something that you want to drop in a nice glass of scotch!

I was excited to buy these to entertain my whisky favoring companions. To my dismay, the process of actually filling water to the perfect level is a challenge. I tried filling water with and without the lids closed. With lids closed, the water gets all over the top of the lid while you try pouring the water through the holes, also not knowing how much you have filled. With lid open, there should have been a clear line indication how much water to fill; closing the lid after either squeezes water out or moves water inside. More so, picking it up and laying it the fridge moves the water inside causing uneven water levels.Product does not produce"perfect" ice balls as advertised. Hit or miss! I would ask the designers to provide a sort of a measured syringe or way to perfectly fill the tray. Would be interested in their feedback.

Much too flexible and spill a lot of water. Ice balls are too small to work well. They melt almost as fast as regular ice. I bought the Tovolo 2.5" sphere ice molds after these. They are night and day better and easier to use. I won't buy these again. Shipping from vendor was excellent. Arrived on time and in great condition.

These are the most amazing ice capsules that exist. Super easy to fill up, freeze fast, and very quick to pop out the ice balls from the container. They stay cold for a long time, and do not water down your drink. The best part is that they melt so slow that they can keep drinks cold for hours. My friends told me about these, and since, we have told 4 other couples. They've all loved them and become as obsessed as we are. Highly recommended!!!
